DOCUMENTATIONS

Preparing the Cocos nucifera powder

Let the Cocos nucifera remain under the sunlight for few days to dry out.

Put the dry Cocos nucifera above a galvanized steel and lit it up using a gasoline and
match.

xii
Let the Cocos nucifera turn into powder and let it chill.

After cooling down, put the powder into a blender to create a fine Cocos nucifera
powder.

xiii
Make the Lead Core

In a plastic container, combine 3 tablespoons of Cocos nucifera powder, 1 tablespoon

each of Kaolin clay, Bentonite clay, and Plaster of Paris.

xiv
Place the mixture of Cocos nucifera powder, Kaolin clay, Bentonite clay, and Plaster of

Paris into a casserole and cook it on the stove. Then, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of Beeswax

to melt it. Stir continuously until the consistency becomes liquid.

xv
Pour the cooked mixture into the mold, which measures 9.9 cm in length and 0.9 cm in

width, while it’s still hot to ensure the pencil shape forms nicely.

Place the lead core in a dry, warm area. Allow it to air-dry completely for 24-48 hours, or

until it becomes hard and solid. This step is important to ensure it doesn’t break easily

when used.

xvi
To shape the lead, use sandpaper. Gently rub the dried pencil against the sandpaper until

it becomes sharp enough.

Prepare the Paper Outer Layer

Cut the used paper that must be 22.5 cm in length and 7 cm in width. These will be used

to cover around the lead and to form the outer part of the layer.

xvii
In a plastic container, pour the glue and mix it with water. The amount of water should be

just enough for the quantity of glue, as adding too much may reduce its adhesiveness.

xviii
Dip the cut paper into the prepared glue mixture, then roll the lead in the glued paper.

Two layers of cut paper are enough to hold it comfortably.

Finalize and Dry the Pencil

After adding the final layer, press down gently to smooth out any uneven areas or air

bubbles in the paper wrap.

xix
Place the pencil on an empty container or flat surface and let it air dry for 24 hours, to

allow the glue to fully set.
