B. appreciate Social Dances and Dance Mixers by watching and observing
how each dance are performed; and
C. execute skills involved in selected social dance.

B. Presentation

Social dances and dance mixers are dances


intended primarily to get to know other
people in attendance at a certain social
function. That is why it is also referred to as
communal dances since it is being
performed in social/community settings.

They are also called ballroom dances and


they are usually performed in pairs, male
and female, but may also be performed in
groups.

C. Lesson Proper

Social dances are classified into two major


classifications namely the Latin American
Dances and the Modern Standard Dances.

Latin American Dances include the salsa,


mambo, meringue, swing, cha-cha-cha,
rumba, samba, jive, boogie, and paso
doble.

Standard Dances are in the selection.
Performers will perform the selected dance
considering the characteristics of each
dance. Each group will be given ample time
to practice for their performance task.
