INTRODUCTION
Today, our country is moving to a place of technology and great
technological advancement is seen around. With the advancement of
technology, the field of engineering, medicine, business and even
in teaching is highly upgrading. Education since then is a
continues process where various changes are seen and practiced in
order to meet the interest of the learners. Therefore, TLE must
take a way in upgrading the knowledge and skills that can be
taught to the learners’ particular with the facilities that can
be used
Technology and Livelihood Education is the provision of skills to
be productive and responsibility to economically uplift the
family, the community and the country.
Question:
How does Technology and Livelihood Education in the K-12
curriculum can help learner be competitive?
Objectives:
1. To develop learners talents and skills using new
technology.
2. To produce competitive and responsible learners
3. To improve learning and teaching strategies.
Body:
With the demand of the K-12 curriculum particularly the TLE-TVL
the teachers need to apply instructional methods that suit the
different particular fields that will cater the needs of
different groups of learners. Instructional methods coupled with
instructional leadership of the school heads provide better
results on the part of students learning experiences and on the
part of the implementation of the curriculum. In addition,
instructional supervision should also be enhanced so that both
the teachers and the learners can easily adopt with the new trend
of teaching and learning process.
According to Danhui Zaiy, 2008 the qualification of the learners
is very much important. Where in the pattern have been shown to
influence student which categorized as: school-related, student-
related and teacher related. Dosset and Muῆoz, 2003 said yjat
among these three factors the teachers- related factor have
generated a great deal of attention especially on teachers
quality. Improving the teachers’ quality is the best way to
improve the quality the curriculum.
Teachers experience and education have been varied as two
characteristics that are related to teacher’s quality. The
methods and techniques applied in teaching, the use of updated
and operational equipment, effectively constructed instructional
materials and the teacher herself who professionally grow, learn
and develop skills and expertise. Greenburg et al,2004 also said
that teachers level of education and knowledge has a great impact
to the learners achievements.
Conclusion:
In as much as the teachers are the pillars of the educational
system, it is necessary to develop their potentials by updating
their competencies through seminars, workshops and upgrading
their educational growth and qualifications as well. Dedicated
teachers should endeavor to keep with the latest trends, not only
in their field of specialization, but also in other related areas
so that the foundation of teaching is strengthened. Innovations
in education depends on the resourcefulness, creativity, and
innovativeness of the teachers, while the school administrators
should meet these challenges with sincere cooperation, and a firm
solution to update themselves professionally to produce better
and we Technique in teaching is a factor which promotes or
effectuates learning through teaching with the aid of devices;
hence, it defined as the skill of the teacher in manipulating the
devices as that the psychological processes of the learner may be
stimulated to
In teaching Technology and Livelihood Education, it is very
important for the students to have hands on application on the
knowledge they learned from their teachers. Merely reading
instructional materials is not adequate for them to learn more
effectively. Hands on application would hone their skills or they
could practice whatever learning they acquire.
