ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF

CLASSROOM IMPROVEMENT
(double walling and concrete flooring)

I- INTRODUCTION

In October and December of 2019, series of strong and shallow earthquakes

struck the province of Davao del Sur and the neighboring provinces where
infrastructures, houses, and buildings collapsed/damaged.
Matanao National High School (MNHS), along with other schools in Davao del
Sur, was greatly damaged – which became unsafe place for learners. Through the
initiative of our school principal, Dr. Rayki A. Buat, and in partnership with LGU
Matanao, plans and actions were taken to solve the problem. They have planned for
temporary school relocation and has built Temporary Learning Shelters (TLS) for
teachers, learners, and stakeholders so students can continue learning even amidst
this calamity.
Considering that classrooms were temporary, they might not be very conducive
to learning. Hence, Mrs. Lovely Joy S. Luy, a Grade 8 Diamond (SPA) adviser, has
come up with a solution to this challenge. Since funds/financial funds were limited, she
asked for her family, friends, and parents’ financial and physical assistance to help her
realize her plans for her classroom. She envisioned to have a classroom that has
double walls and concrete floors, so students feel safe and ready for the opening of
limited face-to-face classes.
