TIP (TEACHER INDUCTION PROGRAM) 2018-2019

INSIGHTS

In reality, beginning teachers have deficits, difficulties and problems they have yet to overcome,
mainly with classroom management and instruction. Their well-being and professional development should be
assisted by a program that help them to form their professional preparedness in dealing with certain
situations to that can make them or break them as teacher. The Schools Division Office of Malabon City
helped and supported all beginning teachers by conducting a Teacher Induction Program (TIP) 2018-2019.
Personally as new transferred teacher in Panghulo Elementary School-Main; Teacher Induction Program
enabled me as new teacher not just to survive from my day to day battle inside at the four corners of my
classroom, but to prosper during my first year(s) of teaching, and motivating myself to strive more for
continuous improvement of my professional growth and well being. Induction Program for teachers helped
me to know and realized further development of my knowledge and skills which are necessary for good
teaching, and appreciate everything I have learned from the first day’s session up to the last one. But while
working out this insight in T.I.P, I realized that Teacher Induction Program was not so much about overcoming
deficits as about pursuing high standards in teacher quality. I currently see another change in my own
perspective. Teacher induction is considered part of the wider school policy with regards to teachers’
professional development and beginning teachers’ own initiatives receive more emphasis. As a beginning
teacher, I viewed that I am fully capable teacher who is co-responsible for my professional development.
Instead of being seen as teacher with deficits, I am considered valuable for the school I was assigned; I also
bring new knowledge and vision to the school and I can actively contribute to the development and welfare of
every learner in our school. For having so much realization on this thing, I am so grateful to Schools Division
Office of Malabon City- Teacher Induction Program Committees, focal persons, resource speakers and TIP
classmates for the knowledge and principles I have received and enjoyed as well.
