ABSTRACT
Introduction
IOT-based coal mine safety monitoring and alerting systems utilize sensors
and connectivity to monitor various parameters within the mine, such as gas levels,
temperature, humidity, and even worker location and vital signs. These systems
continuously collect data and analyse it in real-time to detect any potential hazards or
deviations from safe conditions. In case of any danger, such as high levels of toxic
gases or sudden temperature spikes, the system sends immediate alerts to mine
operators and workers, enabling prompt action to ensure safety. Additionally, these
systems can also be integrated with automation technologies to automatically shut
down equipment or trigger evacuation procedures when necessary. Overall, IOT-
based coal mine safety systems greatly enhance safety standards by providing
proactive monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
Importance of this Project
An IOT based coal mine safety monitoring and alerting system provides a wireless
sensor network for monitoring real time situation of underground mines from base
station. And it is enhanced safety , timely alerts, remote monitoring, worker well
being and the cost savings.
.Implementation Mode: Hardware and Software
Expected outcome:
If any fire accident occurred , drastic increase of temperature or humidity and
any leakage of gas is occurred in the coal mines then by using our project we can
detect the accidents and alert the workers by using the buzzer. And also by using wifi
module placed in it we can also monitor the output data in the mobile by using mobile
telnet application.
Applications:
→ Gas monitoring and alerting
→Temperature and humidity monitoring and alerting
→fire accidents monitoring and alerting
