RATIONALE:The “Science Quiz Bee” is one of the significant activities in this year’s Science Month
celebration, which aspires to revamp students about Science fundamental concepts. This
activity will indicate and establish the scope of Science lessons, the theoretical ideas,
comprehensive data, factual occurrences, and absolute proficiency on the components
and dynamics of Scientific Method. Furthermore, the spirit of camaraderie and
sportsmanship would also be enhanced.
GENERAL MECHANICS
1. The Quiz Bee contest is open to all Grade Eleven (Gr. 11) and Grade Twelve (Gr. 12) students of
HCC Senior High School Department with six (6) participants per strand. participants should be
officially enrolled this S.Y. 2021-2022 in the strand they are representing.
2. Participants can be a combination of Grade Eleven (Gr. 11) and Grade Twelve (Gr. 12) students,
competing as individuals.
3. The Science Quiz bee shall be composed of three (3) rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult. Each
round consists of a set of questions. Consider the following:
a. Easy Round
Ten (10) questions
Two (2) points each question
b. Average Round
Seven (7) questions
Three (3) points each question
4. The questions to be asked in each round shall be from the spiral approach of Science subjects from
Grade Seven (Gr. 7) to Grade Ten (Gr. 10) (General Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and
Science Core subjects of the Senior High School focusing on the disciplines of Earth Science and
Earth and Life Sciences.
6. At the end of the Final Phase, the participant with the highest cumulative score shall be declared the
Over-all Winner. The next two highest scoring participants will be declared First and Second Runner
up, respectively.
7. Substitute contestant for each team during the contest is not allowed.
9. In case a question relevant to the game arises, the attention of the Board of Judges and the Quiz
Master shall be called to resolve the question raised. The game should be temporarily suspended
until the question has been resolved. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be deemed FINAL.
10. Scores of the participants shall be announced after the end of each round.
11. In case of a tie at the end of the last round of this contest, three (3) tie breaker questions will
immediately ensue for a sudden death.
12. The first team to gain an advantage in score will be declared the victor of the tie.
