Internship Report
Introduction
The Junoon Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on
addressing social issues and promoting community development. Here
is a general overview of the foundation's mission, activities, and impact:
Mission: To empower underprivileged communities through education,
healthcare, and livelihood programs.
Vision: To create a society where every individual has equal
opportunities and access to resources necessary for a dignified life.
Working as an intern with the Junoon Foundation was an incredibly
enriching experience that provided me with invaluable insights into the
operations of a non-profit organization dedicated to social change.
From the very beginning, we were welcomed into a collaborative and
supportive environment where my contributions were valued and
encouraged. We got the opportunity to work on diverse projects, ranging
from organizing educational workshops for children in underprivileged
communities to assisting in health camps and livelihood training
programs.
The hands-on experience allowed me to develop a deeper
understanding of community needs and the impact of sustainable
development initiatives. The mentorship and guidance we received from
experienced professionals at Junoon were instrumental in honing my
skills in project management, communication, and teamwork.
Additionally, witnessing firsthand the positive changes in the lives of the
beneficiaries was incredibly rewarding and reinforced my commitment
to pursuing a career in the social sector. Overall, our internship at the
Junoon Foundation was a transformative journey that equipped us with
practical skills and a profound sense of purpose.

Objective
The primary objectives of an internship with the Junoon Foundation are
to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of non-profit
operations and to cultivate practical skills in community development.
Interns aim to gain hands-on experience by actively participating in
various projects, such as organizing educational programs, assisting in
healthcare initiatives, and supporting livelihood enhancement efforts.
Another key objective is to foster a deep awareness of the social issues
faced by marginalized communities and to develop effective strategies
for addressing these challenges.
Through mentorship and collaborative work, interns seek to enhance
their project management, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Additionally, the internship aims to inspire a lasting commitment to
social change by allowing interns to witness the tangible impact of their
efforts on the lives of individuals and communities. Overall, the
internship is designed to be a transformative learning experience that
equips interns with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to contribute
meaningfully to the social sector.
First Hand Accounts
The following are the first hand accounts of our internship experience:

During my internship at the Junoon Foundation, an NGO focused on
improving the lives of underprivileged children, I had the opportunity to
work on researching Activity Based learning (ABL).
Day 1-2: Research on Activity Based Learning.
In the first two days we were divided into 2-3 groups into various
different group and I was selected for the ABL group. I first tried to
research on what basically is ABL. After finding out about it I tried to find
out different techniques of ABL with the help of google as well as
different NGO’S working in the same field. Then with the help of my
partner we created a ppt and report on different techniques to conduct
ABL and how it can be beneficial for the organization. I also added what
challenges can come to conduct these Abl and how we can overcome
them.
Day 3-4: Detailed Info on ABL according to age group.
On Day three and four we applied the feedback got from our previous task
and also made report and ppt for the new task given. In the new task we
had to research about activities for different age groups. I was in charge of
4-7 age group. I contacted different NGO’s also and got information from
them. I also made my own activities which could make studying fun and
easy for the younger kids as this is the most important age to make their
basic solid, Activities provided by me can definitely do there work also
motivating the kids to learn and enhance there curiosity to study new
things.
Outcome:
Got to know more about NGOs.
Improved my ppt and report skills.
I learned about ABL in detail.
I also had fun in this process getting to know that what we are doing is
going to be used for a good cause.

During my internship at the Junoon Foundation, an NGO focused on
improving the lives of underprivileged children, I had the opportunity to
work on volunteer acquisition avenues.
Day 1-2: Research on Volunteer Acquisition
I began by researching various avenues for volunteer acquisition. This
involved studying different methods and platforms used by NGOs to
attract volunteers. Additionally, I conducted a case study on CRY (Child
Rights and You), analyzing their successful strategies and identifying best
practices that could be adapted for the Junoon Foundation. The primary
challenge was synthesizing relevant information from multiple sources
and ensuring that CRY’s strategies were applicable to our context.
Day 3-4: Social Media and Campaign Strategies
In the following days, I focused on how social media could be leveraged
to enhance volunteer acquisition. I explored different social media
platforms, their user demographics, and the types of campaigns that
could effectively engage potential volunteers. his research included
examining successful campaigns from other NGOs and identifying key
elements that contributed to their success. The main challenge was
understanding the rapidly evolving social media landscape and
determining the most effective campaign types for our target audience.
Overall, this experience provided me with valuable insights into the
dynamics of volunteer recruitment and the strategic use of social media.
It also significantly. This experience developed my research skills, learnt
analyzing information and enhanced my understanding of social media
marketing

Day 1-2:
Task: Prepare a presentation on activity-based learning
Objective: Research and analyze the activities conducted by various NGOs
for children and create a comprehensive report
Outcome:
1.Developed research skills through in-depth analysis of NGO websites and
activities

children

Day 3-4:
Task: Conduct research on activity-based learning for children aged 8-11
Objective: Contact and understand the working of various NGOs and prepare
a presentation and report on the same
Outcome:
1.Developed communication skills through interactions with NGOs and
stakeholders

3.Contributed to the development of innovative and effective activity-based

During my internship at the Junoon Foundation, an NGO focused on
improving the lives of underprivileged children, I had the opportunity to
work on volunteer acquisition avenues.
Day 1-2: Research on Volunteer Acquisition
I began by researching various avenues for volunteer acquisition.This
involved finding different paths through which we can attract volunteers
to our organisation. After going through a lot of articles I prioritized 7
main paths through we can attract volunteers and prepared a ppt and
report on it.
Day 3-4: overview of Corporate Social Responsibility
In the following days, I read through different research paper published
by different management institute and made a report on my findings
from that report. In that report I also added my next task which was to
make a list of companies that conduct CSR activities in their
organisation, I prepared 2 different list on this one was on the basis of
capital expenditure and another one was on the basis of Companies that
promotes volunteering in their employees. Next I prepared a list of
contact info of the companies that promotes volunteering in their
employees.
Outcomes:
1. Learned what attracts volunteers.
2. Learned what challenges NGO's face to gather
volunteers.
3. Learned about paid software used to find contact
info’s of management people.

During my internship at Junoon, I researched on few Ngo’s their
volunteer acquisition techniques and also i researched on retired
individuals in NGO’s and i was very much motivated by their lives
Day 1-2: Case study on Volunteer Acquisition By NGO
I came to know about one of the big NGO i.e “Teach For India” and
from various sources like websites, instagram, facebook we came to
know about their volunteer acquisition startegies and also about
scchemes like “Fellowship” Program and “Alumni Movement” due to
which they are able to attract fellows and make lives of MGO students
bright.
Day 3-4: Research On Retired Individuals In NGO
Retired individuals play a major role in development and progress of NGO
because:

2. Great Knowledge
3. Governaace and Leadership
Also, I came to know about Big personalities in this field like Ms.Kiran Bedi
and many more. I think stories of such personalities will be an highly
motivating factor for me as well as many one.They make great use of Free
time and do Good deeds and we know Good deeds always results in good
results.
Outcomes:
1.Increased Empathy and Compassion: I developed a deeper
understanding of social issues and the challenges faced by underserved
communities, fostering a sense of empathy and compassion.
2.Improved Communication Skills: Engaging with community members,
stakeholders, and team members enhances interpersonal and
communication skills.
3.Skill Development: Interns develop various skills, including project
planning, data analysis, public speaking, and leadership.

Day 1-2
Getting introduced to the Junoon foundation and oriented by the
founder, Mrs. Hemanthi Sen was quite good to know about the
organization which is helping for a good cause. I choose to be on the
research team as it was more compelling for to know about the NGOs.
My first task which was assigned to me was to make a detail report and a
presentation about new fundraising ideas and their statistics of
outreach by different NGOs. These task helped me to know about
different types of NGOs and their schemes and the various fundraising
ideas. After gathering all the information I was able to present to Mrs.
Hemanthi Mam which guided and helped me to know more about the
ideas and schemes.
Day 3-4
The task assigned me for the next days was to create a detailed report
on the challenges faced by the smaller NGOs in the type of fundraising
ideas which I had represented and also to grow outreach on different
fundraising events and increasing voluntarily outreach individually and
have a influence on social media fundraising. It helped me to know more
deeply about the NGOs and challenges they face. I also got to know
more about increasing the outreach through online platforms, social
media advertising and boosting the SEO of foundation pages. It was
quite helpful for me to know about getting funds through these different
types of modes virtually.

INTRODUCTION:
Foundation. For the past five days I got the opportunity for working
with Junoon Foundation. I was assigned in Research team and through
that I was able to do research on various activity based learning for
the students. I hope my research will be needful for the Junoon
Foundation.
Task for 5 day Internship program:
DAY1 & 2: The Research team has divided into 4 groups, in each group
there are 2-3 students. Each group has assigned individual task. In my
group there are 3 students including me and we have to prepare
presentation on the activity based learning. For this kind of research I
had gone through various NGO’s website and studied there activities
for the children and made the report for the same.
DAY3 & 4: The next task was to do research on activity based learning
for the age group of 8 to 11. So I had contacted various NGO’s and
understand their working for the children. After contacting various
NG0’s and I had prepared presentation and report for the same.
OUTCOME:
1)Personal Fulfillment: Experience the satisfaction of contributing to a
meaningful cause.
2) Expanded Outreach: Increase the organization’s reach and impact
through additional manpower and new networks.
3)Innovation and Fresh Perspectives: Benefit from new ideas and

Day 1-2
I along with my partner Radheshyam were given the task by Mrs. Hemanthi Sen
to research on the topic “Fundraising Ideas” and to prepare a presentation
highlighting the current fundraising methods used, methods used by various
organizations and the methods which can be used in the future
Day 2-4
Our first presentation was evaluated by Mrs. Hemanthi Sen and she gave us a
new task where we had to research on the ways in which we can host an offline
event which could potentially generate an income of 5 lakhs.

Day 1-2: My task was to research on various schemes run by NGOs for
development and growth of students in their NGO’s. While traversing on web i
came across plenty of schemes from various institutes which focusses on this
some of them are:
1.Oxfam’s Livelihoods Program
2.CARE’s Pathways Program
3.Worldwide Life Fund Program (WWF)
4.Save the Children’s Program
Day 3-4: During these day’s my task was to research on impact of such
programs on their life and also give the visual analysis of the data and really i
was astounded by the results which i found

Day 1-2 : I researched on various NGO schemes implemented by
NGO's which are not in the limelight and which need to be
promoted in society due to their significant amount of contribution
in society so after a thorough research I found out two programs
which were related to women and support them in farming also I
contributed in preparing report and presentation slides
Day 3-4 : After I got feedback from the respective faculties and my
group that I have to select schemes which can be implemented in
Mumbai and which are active in Mumbai so I selected new projects
namely Udyogini and project Poshan and we then recreated the
presentation as well as report
Learning :
I got to learn about different social works
I got inspired to contribute in social activities
I improved making reports and presentation in social fields
As I presented the research done by me my communication
skills also improved

Day 1-2
We were assigned to research programs run by other NGOs that could
be beneficial for our organization. Our task was to explore six different
programs. To streamline the process, we divided the responsibility
among our group members, assigning two programs to each member.
We began with extensive online research to identify NGOs focusing on
similar educational initiatives. Our aim was to find programs that align
with our goals and could provide valuable insights for our own efforts.
Day 3-4
After identifying the relevant programs, we delved into a detailed
analysis. This involved examining the structure, implementation
strategies, and outcomes of each program.
Our goal was to understand not only what these programs achieved but
also how they achieved it. We then compiled our findings into a
structured report.
This report included a comprehensive overview of each program,
highlighting key elements such as educational approaches, benefits,
implementation strategy, funding models, partnerships, and measurable
outcomes.
Outcomes
• Gained a deeper understanding of the educational challenges faced by
underprivileged children.
• Identified successful elements common across programs.
• Produced a comprehensive report detailing the structure,
implementation, and outcomes of various educational programs.
• Provided actionable recommendations for our NGO to consider
adopting best practices from successful programs.
Conclusion:
Through this social internship we were able to gain insights into following
