Profile
Application
In combination with corrosion inhibitors like Hostacor® IT clear water-
soluble metal working fluids with good corrosion protection and lubrication
properties are obtained. Additionally, Genapol® B provides excellent wetting
properties resulting in a low surface tension and a low contact angle on steel
(surface tension 5% in water 41.5 mN/m, contact angle V2A steel 5% in water
39.2°).
1 These characteristics are for guidance only and not to be taken as product specifications. The
tolerances are given in the product specification sheet. For further product properties, specifications,
safety and ecological data, please refer to the MSDS.
**Contact angle of water on V2A steel: 64°
**Surface tension of water: 71.6 mN/m
The formulations may contain water, triethanolamine, yellow metal inhibitors Rothausstrasse 61
(e.g. benzotriazole), bactericides and fungicides as well. In general, additions 4132 Muttenz
Switzerland
of 1-5% of the formulations are used in aqueous solutions depending on the
BUSINESS UNIT INDUSTRIAL &
machining process.
