WEEK 6
ACTIVITY NO.1
GOOD LIFE COLLAGE. Collect pictures online or cut out pictures in magazines or newspapers that
demonstrate how technology has made the man's desire for a happy life more realizable. Explain how
these technological advancements have made the campaign for the attainment of good life easier or
otherwise. Present it in class.
Ever since the man has realized the need for something that will make their life easier, the
desire for technological advancement emerges drastically as well. In today’s time technology
has been a big part our everyday life. We can see these technological inventions everywhere,
we’ve got gadgets, appliances, buildings, machines and many more. The technology has been
helping us in the past decades to be able to have a relatively easier life. If we wanted to know
the news and find entertaining shows we can simply just turn on the television, if we want to
talk with our friends, classmates, family, and other people we can simply just use the
applications installed in our phones. Technology has truly been helpful in our everyday lives, of
technology does not exist our country will be left out in the primitive kind of life.

MOVIE REFLECTION. Before watching the movie, “What happened to Monday? (2017)”, read the
following questions/instructions.
1. Watch the film, “What happened to Monday?” (2017) and create a summary in no less than 25
sentences
Humans will have drained our planet's resources in the future. As a result, a surprising
but realistic government regulation has been issued: families can only have one child.
If a family has more than one kid, the government will take the excess child and
cryogenically freeze him or her until we have colonized another planet or discovered
a means to manufacture more natural resources. Nicolette Cayman, the lady in
charge of this program, is the type of unethical leader who promises a brighter future
while robbing families of their children. Terrence Settman knows he's in big danger
when his septuplet grandchildren's mother dies in delivery, but he sets up a brilliant
plan to keep his granddaughters alive. They will essentially take turns playing Karen
Settman, who eventually becomes a powerful businesswoman, but is actually seven
sisters working a very elaborate "Parent Trap." Named after days of the week,
Monday, Tuesday, and so on, must inform the entire sisterhood every night about
every detail that occurred during the day. And, in one of the film's most delightfully
twisted plot turns, they must all look the same. Consider the possible consequences.
If one sister loses a finger. Then one night, Monday does not return home. The other
six girls, who have diverse enough personalities to allow Rapace to have some
fun, one is more of a bookworm than her sisters, one is more physically extroverted,
and so on, must figure out what happened to Monday. It leads them into the hands of
the Child Allocation Board and reveals the truth about Nicollete Cayman's future
vision.
2. Answer the following questions critically.
2.1. Why is it entitled as “What happened to Monday?”
It is entitled what happened to Monday because it is a story wherein there are seven identical
sisters who were named after every day of the week, these sisters are supposed to live a life
as one person and must take turns on going out an one time when its Monday’s schedule the
family are worried because she never came back of the house. They maid a mission to find
their sister.
2.2. What are the societal conflicts and policies raised in the movies?
The societal conflict that they are facing is the lack of supplies and resources and so the
government made a policy that every family must have only one child and any extra children
will be preserved.
2.3. What were your reactions when you found out the real government’s acts in “preserving” the
children for the future? What would you feel if one of your children were “preserved” that
way?
I will be devastated to see my child being preserved like that because first they are not really
preserving those children, the government lied to the families and made an excuse to execute
children. The worst thing is that they are basically cremating those children alive.
STUDENT’S REFLECTION
1. What is the relationship between the good life and science?
Having a good life is the ultimate goal of science. The scientist is seeking for new discoveries
and inventions that will help the humanity to have an easier and happier life. With the help
Science people are now able to avoid sickness and elongate their lives.
2. Does technology always lead us to the good life? How and why?
No, technology has advantages and disadvantages, we people must use technology along
with knowledge onto how to use it properly. At time technology such as social media can give
us misinformation, that’s why we know how to scan information and validate them as well.
3. How can you relate the concept of good life to Sustainable Development?
Having a sustainable life also means having a long life, this long life that we have must be
used in doing that things that will make ourselves happy and can help other people at the
same time.
4. Do you agree with this statement of Socrates, “An unexamined life is not worth living”? Why?
I agree, an unexamined life is basically meaningless because literally examining our lives are
giving meaning if our life experiences are worth living for. If our life is unexamined we don’t
know what the purpose on our life is.
5. How does solutions-oriented mindset will help us to have a good life?
In life we will face a lot of problems that will challenge or willingness to live and so as human
we must practice being solution oriented minded to be able to put our mind at ease and can
easily control the pressure of those problems.
