CULMINATING ACTIVITY P.E.


Grade 7-8
Festival Dance/Folk Dance
I. Theme: “Love our own Cultural Dances”

II. Rationale:
An opportunity to showcase skills, artistry, and technique of the students in
Festival Dance and Folk Dance to create their own dance routine, appreciate
the cultural dance in the Philippines.

III. Objectives:

 Performing creative and innovative dance routine.


 Develop poise, coordination and above all self confidence in all young boys/girls
 To work together as a team
 Provide the basic skill, encourage teamwork, good sportsmanship
 Learned the value of camaraderie

IV. Schedule of Activities

V. Implementing Guidelines

1. The competition will be held on June 14, 2023, at school covered court. Call time for
the participants is at 11:40 PM. The team leader from the participating teams shall
draw lots to determine the sequence of rehearsal and actual performance. Late
teams shall automatically be scheduled first in the order of performances.

2. The entire duration of the performance must not exceed seven (6) minutes,
exclusive of 30 seconds pre-setting and 30 seconds exit/pack-up and clean-up.

3. All routines must be appropriate for family viewing. Any vulgar or suggestive
movements, words, or music may result in disqualification. Uniforms must also be
decent.
 All props must be registered and cleared with the Organizer prior to the
performance. Pyrotechnics and other similar dangerous or hazardous props
are strictly prohibited.
Criteria for judging:

1. Technical Skills
a. Basic skill of the dance must be executed 20 pts.
b. Mastery of the steps 10 pts
c. Proper position of arms and feet 10 pts.
2. Routine
a. Synchronization 10 pts.
b. Choreography 10 pts.
c. Energy and Projection 10 pts.
d. Dance routine/formation 10 pts.
3. Over-All Impression
a. Audience impact 10 pts.
b. Showmanship 10 pts.

TOTAL: 100 POINTS

4. A panel of judges shall determine the winners based on the foregoing criteria.
Any violation of the foregoing rules may be used as a ground for disqualification
or otherwise cause the appropriate point deduction on the final score. The
decision of the panel shall be final.
