    1. In support of the Department of Education's (DepEd) commitment to make the curriculum


    relevant to produce job-ready, active, and responsible citizens through strengthening literacy
    programs, Matias B. Salvador Memorial Elementary School shall take part in the nationwide
    celebration of the 2023 Pambansang Buwan ng Pagbasa (PBAP) this November. This
    initiative aims to foster for reading among learners and enhance their understanding of
    reading and literacy as pivotal in cultivating critical thinking
    2. With the theme "PAGBASA: Pag-asa sa MATATAG na Kinabukasan," this year's
    reading month celebration is anchored to the following objectives:

    a) encourage pupils to actively participate in activities which can enhance their reading
    abilities

    b) develop pupils’ love for reading through enjoyable activities lined up for the National
    Reading Month celebration

    3. Teachers are advised to extend support by informing their pupils and other concerned to
    fully participate in the month long celebration.
    4. The program will be headed by the School Principal, Perla E. Dela Cruz, together with the
    School Reading Coordinator, English and Filipino Coordinators with the assigned working
    committee.
    5. Accomplishment reports for the said activity shall be submitted a week after the event at
    the Principal’s Office.

    6. Immediate and wide dissemination of this memorandum is desired.
