Introduction

Today’s schools are becoming increasingly diverse.

Many teachers find that their classrooms are populated by English
language learners, gifted students, students with disabilities and students
who are culturally diverse.
Approximately half of the students who have an identified disability spend
80 percent of their school day in general education classrooms.
Like their peers with disabilities, gifted and talented students also are
integrated into general education classrooms.
All of these differences make teaching more interesting and exciting as
well as more complex.
1)Understanding the learning styles of
the students
Understanding learning styles can help one to create more inclusive
classrooms where everyone has a chance to succeed.
Teacher should teach students by lecture method, demonstration method
and by interacting with them.
The teacher who teach the diverse classroom should understand the
learning styles of the students and should plan for teaching in the
classroom.
The teachers can allow for group work during class to create smaller, safe
environments for these students to speak and for their classroom
performance to be evaluated.
2) Special children in the diverse
classroom
The teacher should identify the individual differences of all the students in
their classroom.
Visual cards can also aid learning and are particularly effective for
students who are visual learners or who have difficulty with verbal
communication.
Providing effective, actionable feedback immediately when students are
learning a task or behavior. This is a form of Positive Behavior Support.
Opportunity to express their preferences, opinions and emotions, make
choices and direct their own learning, is important for all school students,
including those with disability.
Providing group activities, students have to opportunity to develop social
skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership and also building
positive relationship with their peers.
3) Preparing students with & without
disabilities for the real world
As adults, students will be exposed to a wide range of human variance,
including individuals with disabilities.
By providing opportunities for all students to have interactions with students
with disabilities during their educational experience, the groundwork will
be laid for these students to embrace all individuals with disabilities
throughout their lives.
Similar to inclusion, giving students opportunities to interact with diverse
individuals in their school experiences better prepares them to do so as
adults in the workplaces.
4)Important to teach culture in the
classroom
Cultural diversity gives students a chance to learn about different
languages, customs and worldviews.
Students are exposed to a variety of cultural and social groups through
diversity education, preparing them to become better citizens in their
communities.
They have a better understanding of the experiences other peers of a
different racial or ethnic group face, they are able to empathize with them.
Teacher should identify the different types of culture of the classroom and
prepare a lesson for including them in the subject teaching.
5)To Improve Students Self-Confident

Self-confidence in students is very importance especially in diverse

classroom because self-confidence is a feeling of trust in one’s abilities,
qualities and judgement.
After learning about different cultures during their education, students feel
more comfortable and safe with the differences they encounter later in life.
The teacher should give more activities for the students to improve their
self-confidence (team-work, group discussion).
6) Teaching in a multi communal
backgrounds in the classroom
The teacher should prepare himself for teaching students in a diverse
classroom with different communal backgrounds.
Teacher should speak to them during the classroom interactions using
good habits, values…… of each community in the classroom.
Teacher should prepare a lesson plan to include the values and ideais in
each community in his classroom teaching.
The following teaching activities are to be
conducted by the teachers during diverse
classroom
Maintain high standards and demonstrate high expectations for all
ethically, culturally, and linguistically diverse students.
Create culturally compatible learning environments.
Respect community language norms.
Understand students home cultures to better comprehend their behaviour
in and out of the classroom.
Tap into students backgrounds to enhance learning.
Embrace dual-languages strategies.
Teach language through subject matter rather than specific linguistic skill
exercises.
Integrate the arts in the curriculum.
Promote students health.
Capitalize on students cultures, languages and experiences.
conclusion

The teacher treat all the students in equal in the diverse classroom.
Teacher should respect the diversity of the classroom and should guide
them in their learning process.
Give more care to the special children and improve their self-confidence
and studies.
