My Autobiography

I am Joanna G. Baldago . I was born on March 20, 2006 at Imus, Cavite and raised at
Bicol. We are two siblings in the family and I'm the eldest. Being the eldest is not an
easy task to take every responsibility that are trusted on you. My mother's name is
Ritchel Baldago and my father's name is Jose Baldago. According to my mom, she
wouldn't have named me Joanna, but Jessel, because many of her nieces have names
like this, so she just changed it to Joanna. I took my elementary at Angustia Elementary
School and I’m in a secondary education at Nabua National High School. When I was
in my elementary days I used to represent our school by participating in different quiz
bee contest in mathematics and science. I am also fund of enjoying journalism
or creating school paperworks of our school. I can say that I am not so intelligent and
bright but I am responsible enough to do my task and obligation as a student. In the end
I finished my elementary education as a class salutatorian and received different
awards.

When I was a child, I was very fat. Like really fat. I was always the fat and large person
in the class. As a consequence, I always got bullied and teased on, so elementary
wasn’t a pleasant experience for me. It was really hard; I was bullied by my classmates
every day. And I couldn’t find any friends because of my appearance. Every night, I
would cry myself to sleep. As days went on, I learned to handle their bullying better. I
didn’t break down very often, and soon, I just got used to it. But a part of me was still
hurt whenever they mock me, then I got really conscious about my body.

But the good thing is I found my real friends in highschool when I was a freshman. And
soon, I got more close friends that genuinely liked me and accepted me as who I am.
Friends that I could always go to whenever I want to rant about my family, scream about
crushes, or copy their homeworks when I forgot there was one. Friends that would help
me, want me by their side and lend me their shoulders when I cry. And soon, I found
myself improving every day. I got better in taking care of my body and studying. I even
learned how to socialize more, and to not be afraid that I would always get judged. I
learned to be a better person every day and matured. I strived to be the better version
of myself, even in the little things. Other people may not see it, but I greatly value all of
my achievements because of hardwork. And as I go through the journey of being a
senior high school and soon as a college student, there is still room for many
improvements and achievements. Where I would face a new world soon, that would
lead me to be a better individual.

And now I can see myself someday living my profession as an engineer. I choose this
because I want to impart my knowledge to the next generation and be part of their
success and by reaping my labor of hardwork someday I can return all to my parent’s
hardships the fruitful outcome of their sacrifices.

Life is a journey with many ups and downs. There will be times when we are happy and
times when we are sad. There will be times when we are successful and times when we
fail. But through it all, we can learn and grow. We can become stronger and wiser. And
we can appreciate the good times even more when they come.
