Introduction to Anesthesia Practice

Chapter 2. Evaluating the Patient Before Anesthesia
The teaching of theory
(1)master how to review the patient’s disease history(such as coexisting medical
illnesses、medications、allergies and drug reactions and anesthetic history).
(2)evaluating the physical examination and laboratory tests result.
(3)subscribe the preoperative anesthesia note.
(4)master the goals of administering premedication.
Chapter 3. Intravenous Anesthesia
The teaching of theory
(1) Master the intravenous anesthesia of ketamine, midazolam and propofol.
(2) Master the the intravenous anesthesia of fentanyl.
(3) Know well the intravenous anesthesia of sodium hydroxybutyrate and etomidate.
(4) Know well the combined induction and maintaince of intravenous anesthesia.
(5) Understand the intravenous anesthesia of remifentanil and sulfentanyl
Emphasis: the intravenous anesthesia of ketamine, midazolam, propofol and fentanyl.
Difficulty: combined anesthesia of of ketamine. midazolam . propofol and fentanyl
Chapter 4. Inhalational Anesthesia
The teaching of theory
(1) Master the preoperative preparation,monitoring and administration of inhalational
anesthesia.
(2) Master the characteristics of enflurane,isoflurane and N2O.
(3) Know well the inhalational anesthesia techniques.
(4) Understand the evaluation of inhalation anesthetics.
Emphasis: the inhalational anesthesia of enflurane,isoflurane and N2O.
Difficulty: combined anesthesia of of enflurane,isoflurane and N2O.
Chapter 5. Neuromuscular Transmission Monitoring
The teaching of theory
(1) Master the application of muscle relaxants (endotracheal intubation, maintance of
anesthesia and treatment in cilinic )
(2) Master the the pattern of nerve stimulation ( train–of–four stimulation, post-tetanic
stimulation and duble burst stimulation )
(3) Master the criteria for adequate clinical recovery and the antagonistic drugs for
muscle relaxants.
(4) Know well clinical pharmacology of muscle relaxants
(5) Know well the side effects of muscle relaxants

(1) Master the peroperative evaluation of the patient’s airway.

Chapter 7. Administration of General Anesthesia

(3)Tracheal intubation equipment: face masks and airway, tracheal tube,

Chapter 13. cardiopulmonary resuscitation
The teaching of theory
(1) know well the reasons and various forms of cardiac arrest.
(2)master the diagnostic method of cardiac arrest.
(3)master the principles and orders of basic life support(BLS) and advanced life
support(ALS) , know well the prolonged life support(PLS).
(4)know well the basic therapeutic measure of cerebral resuscitation.
(5) comprehend the concept of brain death

Chapter 14. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
