Title of Topic
Contextualization of High Impact Teaching Strategies

Rationale
While we work away in our classrooms, we sometimes
forget some of the awesome educational ideas and research
we can use to support our students. Researchers like John
Hattie have trawled tens of thousands of educational papers
to find, summarize and rank the best instructional approaches
by how much they improve student understanding, creating a
gold mine for teachers to use (Victorian Government, 2022).

As stated from (D.O 42, S.2017) The PPST aims to,

First set out clear expectations of teachers along well-defined
career stages of professional development from beginning to
distinguished practice, Second engage teachers to actively
embrace a continuing effort in attaining proficiency; and Third
apply a uniform measure to assess teacher performance, identify
needs, and provide support for professional development.

PPST Domain 1 Which is Strand 1.2 Research-based

knowledge and principles of teaching and learning. Teacher
Should Equipped in a research Based knowledge and Principles
of teaching for enable for the learners to learn effectively. High
impact teaching strategies (HITS) do just as their name
implies—deliver high impact for students and their learning.
When incorporated into the classroom, these pedagogical
approaches have proven to consistently improve the student
experience. (D.O 42, S.2017)

In this regard, we decided to have LAC Session Intitled:

Contextualization of High Impact Teaching Strategies on how
we solved the emerging problem which are the learning Gap and
learning lost of our students in San Rafael National High School.
Due to the two years Pandemic the Learner’s Development is
evidently affected by the said Pandemic.
