HOUSING HISTORY
Housing is the natural refuge built by human hands, which inhabits that
temporarily or permanently. Place where the family lives. Is the protective
barrier between man and danger in the environment, they can finally say it is
the "Magic Space" where fear is being left out of them.
Paleolithic human groups were nomads, many of the Neolithic as well, or were
semi-sedentary. There must have been, in addition to the shelters in caves, forms
of weather protection and action against predators, they may have been
"building" the ephemeral traces have not been.
Already in Catal Huyuk, now Turkey, (10000-6000 BC) are remains stable
housing, the building material was clay (sun dried pieces).Successive
constructions on neolithic make it difficult to know how it was that first
architecture.
4
In Babylon (the legendary Tower of Babel), the cradle of civilization in
Mesopotamia, there was stone construction with brick made sun-dried clay
(adobe) and baked brick. The walls are solid and blind (ie, without any
opening).
The first houses were structured around a courtyard into which it opened, while
the exteriors were virtually blind. The decks of the ships were flat and terrace.
For light covers (doorways and windows) was used arch and vault. The
dominant form was the hub.
By the end of the Middle Age early Renaissance The new state of affairs is, of
course, in the construction of houses. Houses are simple, but they no longer
look like hovels. Usually consist of a ground floor with a main part, on the first
floor are the rooms of the owners, under the roof and the server. Artisans and
traders transferred the common room on the first floor and the ground floor
devoted to workshop or store; wooden window serves as a showcase to
merchants.
Families no longer locked in his private life and increases the desire for
sociability, the doors stay open much of the day, are windows on the facades
hitherto blind and courtyard becomes unimportant.
The space reserved for matters relating to hygiene is restricted, to remedy this
emerging public toilets in Europe.
At present there are many kinds of housing accommodating the historic and
climatic needs, but mostly to the rise of modern science of architecture and
snobbery current millionaires and developed country.
