Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) Reference Code EXT50351436-01 Location Calgary, AB Canada Contract Type Regular Full-time

General Information The Facilities Reliability department has a Civil Engineer position available. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of the Civil & Environmental Engineering team. We anticipate filling this position locally and therefore this position is not eligible for Cross Border or Domestic relocation. Responsibilities Responsibilities include: - Design experience in structures, foundations and site grading; - Application of engineering principles, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements and implement solutions; - Implement short-term and long-term solutions for civil/structural integirty issues; - Assist in ensuring safe engineering is in place for fall protection, cranes and rigging; - Technical report writing and development of Facility Integrity Plans.

Qualifications and Education Qualifications / Competencies required: - Design experience in structures, foundations and site grading; - Excellent interpersonal skills; - Good verbal and written communication skills; - Excellent networking ability; - Familiar with applicable industry codes and standards; - Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills; - Ability to recognize and adapt to changing business priorities; - Self-motivated and results driven; - Familiar with TransCanada facility and pipeline operations; - Leadership skills with an aptitude for working in a team environment; - Must have and maintain a valid passport for travel across North America - 10% travel required.

Education / Experience required: - Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 to 4 years of work experience as recognized by APEGGA and preferably nearing registration with APEGGA. Successful Completion of the Following is Required: - Driver's Abstract; - Security Clearance / Criminal Record Check. Depending on the qualifications of the applicants the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level.
