I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

A. Demonstrate understanding of dance interpretation

B. Interpret at least one Philippine/foreign dance literature.

C. Interprets dance literature following the steps in dance Interpretation ( SPA_D-D19-IIIa-j-3)

a. Interpret the selected Philippine and foreign folk dance,

b. Value the dance step in every figure.

c. Actively execute the dance step in every figure

A. Topic: Philippine (JOTA CAMARINES) and Foreign (IRISH LILT) Folk Dance following the
steps in dance Interpretation

Moving on in our topic, I will give you first a


short game entitled, GUESS ME. I have
prepared here some letters and you’ll be going

is all about Philippine and foreign folk dance
which is the JOTA CAMARINES and IRISH
LILT.

Norte.

the male wears barong tagalog and black
pants while the female wears Maria Clara

A. DISCUSSION:

Do you have any idea of what is IRISH LILT


is?
All: ma’am we have no idea of what is IRISH
LILT is.
No worry class because we are going to tackle
the 2 folk dance here the Philippines which is
the JOTA CAMARINES and the Foreign folk
dance which is the IRISH LILT.

In this topic we will discover the figures, the


costume, music and the formation of the said 2
folk dance, are you ready to discover?

JOTA CAMARINES
The dance described below is from Daet,
Camarines Norte. This is usually performed by
the rich people or sometimes referred to as the
elite.
Costume:
Female: Maria Clara style or any old-
style costume
Male: Barong Tagalog and black
trousers
Music:
¾ composed of two parts: A and B.
Count:
One, Two, Three to a measure
Formation:
Partners stand opposite each other about six
feet apart. The girl at Boy’s right when facing
the audience. One to any number of pairs may
participate in this dance.

IRISH LILT

This is a very lively dance especially suitable


for girls.

COSTUME. Girls- Emerald green


blouse, short dark skirt, white kerchief around
neck, green kerchief on the head tied under
chin, green stockings, flat black shoes.

MUSIC is composed of one part of


sixteen measures.

COUNT one, two, one, two, and to a


measure or one, two, three, four to two
measures.

FORMATION. This is a solo dance.
