Introduction: Set Induction (5 minutes)

PRE - LESSON
1. Teacher greets the pupils.
2. Teacher displays a short paragraph on the powerpoint slides.
3. Pupils identify what the short passage is about (the main idea).
4. Teacher asks pupils about the gist of today’s lesson topic.

Activity 1
1. Teacher provides further explanation on the theme/main ideas in literature.

Activity 2: Listening (25 minutes)


1. Teacher explains further the main topic of today’s lesson.
2. Teacher distributes comprehension questions worksheets to each pupil.
3. Teacher plays a listening audio for pupils to listen to and repeat it twice.
4. Pupils need to answer the comprehension questions while listening to the audios played by the
LESSON teacher.
DEVELOPMENT 5. Teacher gives pupils 2 minutes to finalize their answers.
6. Teacher discusses the answers to the comprehension questions together with the pupils.
7. Teacher randomly picks pupils to state their answers to the class.

Activity 3: Speaking (25 minutes)


1. Teacher assigns pupils into groups.
2. Teacher distributes a mind map template to each group.
3. Teacher plays a song for pupils to listen to and repeat it twice.
4. Pupils are given 10 minutes to discuss the main theme of the song and give evidences from the
song and complete it on the mind map provided.
5. Each group needs to present their findings.
6. Each group needs to provide at least 1 theme and give at least 3 evidences from the song.

Closure: (5 minutes)

POST - LESSON
1. Teacher asks for volunteers and also selects students’ names to share what they
have gained from the class conducted.
2. Teacher sums up the lesson.
