GeoVolt: Electricity Production Through GeobacterSulfurreducens Utilizing Animal
Manure as Bacteria’s Sustenance
Chapter 4: Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation of Data
This chapter is composed of exhibited results and interpretations of gathered
data through experimentations and observations that the researchers performed within
a three-day observation. Data were examined and arranged in an organized table in
order to present the numerical values systematically. Data were presented in three (3)
tabular sections; the first one encompasses the outcomes of the executed observation
during the first day with three trials, it also deals with the results on the second day of
the experimentation with three trials, and presents the data accumulated during the third
day investigation with three trials as well, the second one conveys the comparison of
each highest result per day in terms of percentage, and the third table shows the
differentiation of the varying stabilization of the outcome of the voltage emitted in terms
of lowest, normal, and highest given power.
A. Three-day Observations
This part contains the collective results that have been accumulated by the
researchers during the three-sday observation of their experimentation. Data collected
were totally the outcome of the conducted trials of the three given set-ups.

½ cup of soil with 1690 millivolts 1800 millivolts 1740 millivolts

Table 1 conveys the progress of the voltage emitted during the first day
observation. Results were collected in terms of millivolts wherein in the first set up (1
cup of soil without manure),there has been no recorded change in total voltage emitted
and the results for the three trials were constant with 1600 millivolts. On the other hand,
for the second set up (1 cup of soil with 20 grams of manure), there has been relevant
change in the total voltage emitted and it turned out to be 1650 millivolts for trial 1, 1720
millivolts for trial 2, and 1750 millivolts for trial 3. For the third set up (½ cup of soil with
½ cup manure), the recorded results for the total voltage emitted were 1690 millivolts,
1740 millivolts, and 1800 millivolts respectively.

Table 1 shows the computed mean of the three trials of each set-up during
the day 1 observation. For the first set-up (1 cup of soil without manure), the total mean
of the three trials is 1600 millivolts. While for the second set-up (1 cup of soil 20 g
manure), the calculated mean of its three trials is 1707 millivolts and 1743 millivolts is
the total mean of the three trials for the third set-up (½ cup of soil with ½ cup manure).

Table 3 presents all of the data acquired on the second day with three set-
ups being evaluated. The total voltage emitted in the first set-up (1 cup of soil without
manure) accumulated 1680 millivolts and has displayed no significant change in three
trials. Meanwhile, it continues to release a higher overall voltage on the second set-up
(1 cup of soil with 20 g manure). For three consecutive trials, it has recorded 1770
millivolts, 1860 millivolts, and 1820 millivolts. Lastly, the total voltage emitted between
trials in the third set-up (1/2 cup of soil with 1/2 cup manure) exhibited a great change,
with 1910 millivolts for trial 1, 1830 millivolts for trial 2, and 1880 millivolts for trial 3.

Table 4 exhibits the computed mean of the three trials of each set-up during
the day 2 observation. For the first set-up (1 cup of soil without manure), the total mean
of the three trials is 1680 millivolts. While for the second set-up (1 cup of soil 20 g
manure), the calculated mean of its three trials is 1817 millivolts and 1873 millivolts is
the total mean of the three trials for the third set-up (½ cup of soil with ½ cup manure).

Table 5 shows the gathered results with regards to the development that has
been observed for the Day 3 experimentation. Congruent to the first two days of
observations, the set up of having 1 cup of soil without manure exhibited constant
results with 1720 millivots for all three trials. However, for the second set-up (1 cup of
soil with 20 grams of manure), there has been notable progress particularly, the first trial
resulted with 1920 millivolt, 1890 millivolts for the second trial, and 1950 millivolts for the
third trial. Moreover, the third set-up (½ cup of soil with ½ cup manure) as well
presented considerable amount of changes in the total voltage emitted, it gave off 2120
millivolts for trial 1, 2160 for trial 2, and 2080 millivolts for trial 3.

experimentation among the three trials of the three said set-ups. It can be observed that
the voltage produced by each set-ups has been constantly increasing per day. To be
particular, for the first set-up (1 cup of oil without manure), it accumulated 1600 millivolts
in day 1, 1680 millivolts in day 2, and 1720 millivolts in day 3. On the other hand, the
second set-up (1 cup of soil with 20 g of manure), day 1 garnered 1800 millivolts, 1860
millivolts in day 2, and 1950 millivolts in day 3. Meanwhile, for the third set-up (½ cup of
