11. based on the discussion and evidences provided, did Rizal at his final days
retract?
Explain and justify.

- Many claims and evidence suggest that Dr. Jose P. Rizal retracted in his final days
and died as a Catholic. But I believe Rizal did not retract. Despite the evidence that
Rizal did sign the retraction letter, the fact that he asked to change the statement
written on the template from “I abominate Masonry as a society reprobated by the
Church” to “I abominate Masonry as the enemy of the Church and reprobated by the
same Church”. The retraction document was more of Rizal taking moral courage to
recognize his mistakes rather than actual retraction.

12. Why do we need to know the exact location of the First Cry of the Katipunan?
Based on the evidence provided which of the locations do you think the actual events
took place?
- If I were to be asked, we need to know where did the exact location of the First Cry
even though there is a contention in the place and date of where did it happen, as
long as there are possible places and dates with evidence that are given the
presumption of where did the cry took place. I think the First Cry took place at Pugad
Lawin because aside from the recognition of the National Historical Commission of
the Philippines, there are numerous evidence claiming that the First Cry did happen
in Pugad Lawin.

13. This location is supported by evidences from the local word "masawa,"
