ACCESS ROUTE
OBSERVATION :
Single entrance (Two Way Entrance) for both vehicle & pedestrian pathway.
Surface is Firm & Non-Slippery
No tactile guiding path provided.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
Two Way Entrance must be of minimum 1650mm to 1800mm.
Surface should be firm and non-slippery in nature & tactile guiding pathway for accessibility
of visually impared persons.

CONCLUSION :
Entrance is barrier free and accessible to both vehicular and pedestrian passage .
Surface isn’t accessible for the blindly disabled persons.C
OBSERVATION :
ACCORDING TO CPWD
Single entryway space for both patients and vehicular
movement.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
An easily identifiable continuous and relatively level path
free from obstruction or any kind of hazards shall be
provided for persons with a disability to enter, move
within and leave a building to reach the accessible
facilities.

CONCLUSION :
Entryway isn’t provided enough space for vehicle and
patients barrier free movement. Physically disabled
Wheelchair person can’t access the space if vehicle is

Double Door entrance.

CONCLUSION :
OBSERVATION :
● Ramp width is 1.8 Meter.
● Ramp Ratio is 1:14.
● Tactile flooring is provided.
● Contrasting colors are provided for walls and floor.
● Kerb Edge is provided with 40 CM.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Ramp width shouldn't be less than 1.8 M.
● A clear space, not less than ramp width should be
provided at head and foot of the ramp.
● Ramp Ratio shouldn't be less than 1:12.
● A railing of 100CM should be provided on both sides
of the ramp.

warning strips.
● Kerb Edge should be atleast 10CM.

1.8 M CONCLUSION :
Ramp provided here achieved most of the universally
accessible elements but lacked in provision of railing
and tactile warning strips.

STAIRCASE
ACCORDING TO CPWD
OBSERVATION :
● Width of stairs provided is 0.85 M.
● No staircase is provided for Ground Floor to 1st
Floor.
● Tread of the stairs is 28 CM.
● Rise of the stairs is 18 CM.
● No Handrails are provided on the sides of stairs.
● Non slip Nosing isn't provided with contrasting
colors.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Tread of the stairs shouldn't be less than 30CM &
Riser shouldn't be more than 15 CM.
● Hand railing should be provided on the both sides
of the staircase.
● Tread and walls shall be in contrasting colors.
● No more than 11 stairs in a flight.
● Non Slip Nosings should be in contrasting colors 28 CM
with tread and wall.

CONCLUSION : 0.85 M
Staircase provided didn't achieve the better
standards to be universally accessible.
DOORS
OBSERVATION :
● Doors width - 0.9M / 1.0M / 1.1M / 1.45M
● Handle of the door provided at a height of 1000MM.
● There's no Door threshold.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● The unobstructed area adjacent to the door handle
on the leading face of a single door shall not be less
than 330 mm in width.
● Door handle shall not be less than 950 mm and not
more than 1050 mm above the finished floor level.
● Door threshold shall not exceed 20 mm in height.

CONCLUSION :
Doors provided to the spaces can be accessible to
everyone.
ACCORDING TO CPWD
TOILETS
OBSERVATION :
● No separate toilets for men & women provided.
● No accessibility for wheel-chaired persons to the toilets provided.
● No separate urinals provided.
● Urinal space provided is 800MM × 1200MM.
● Wash Basin mounted at height 700MM.
● No grab rails provided.
● Height of the urinal placed is at 1000MM.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Opening to the toilet should be 1M wide.
● Wash Basin height from the floor shouldn't be more than 750MM.
● All the doors provided should be push type doors.
● Urinal space should be 800MM×1500MM.
● Grab Rails should be provided for wheel-chaired persons
● Height of the urinal shouldn't be more than 1200MM from floor
level.

CONCLUSION :
ACCORDING TO CPWD
Toilets isn't access for wheel-chaired persons. There's no separate
urinals provided on gender basis which isn't good to provide for
public usage. Grab rails and emergency call buttons were the
measures for Wheel-chaired and physically challenged persons
use in case of an emergency.
WAITING LOUNGE
OBSERVATION :
CONCLUSION :
● Flooring isn’t good enough for patients entering the health centre.
Flooring is with slippery material and there’s no accessibility for
wheelchaired persons.
OBSERVATION :
● Edges are sharp.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Edges and corners should be curved.
CONCLUSION :
● Seating allotted is sharp cornered and hard material.
SIGNAGES
OBSERVATION :
● Signages are kept on the head part of the door.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Side attached signage boards guide well in corridors.
CONCLUSION :
● Signage boards well guide if they’re installed perpendicular to the
walls. By aligning them such way make the people walking in
corridor recognise the rooms while movement.
CORRIDOR & LOBBY
OBSERVATION :
● Width of the corridor is 2M.
● Lobby in a corridor has a length of 1200MM.
● No Curvilinear edge corners.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● Width of the corridor should not be less than 1.5M.
● Lobby in a corridor should not have length less than 1200MM.
● Curvilinear edges should be provided in order to have a safe turn.
CONCLUSION :
● Width of corridor is good for people to walk and lobby length is
allotted as per standards. Curvilinear edges haven’t provided
which are for patients not to harm by sharp edges.
OTHERS
OBSERVATION :
● Window sill is at 850 cm from the floor.
ACCORDING TO CPWD :
● To enable wheelchair users to see through a window
comfortably, the sill should be not higher than 800 mm from
the floor.

CONCLUSION :
● Windows sill is not accessible for wheel -chaired persons.
OBSERVATION :
● Parking lot for two wheelers isn’t
properly dedicated.
● No Signage board installed.
OBSERVATION :
