1. Why do you think Ethics is important in our everyday lives?
Ans:
ETHICS is important in our everyday lives because it serve as a guide of morality in our daily living and
helps us to judge behavior can be justified and decisions can be identify whether good or bad. It refers to
society’s right way of living our daily lives. It helps to establish rules, principles and values which we can base
our daily lives. It also sets the basic beliefs and standards that make everything around us to run smoothly. It
also helps all organizations and institutions around us whether political, medical, lawful, religious and social.
This also provides us a system that helps us to identify right from wrong and good from bad. The purpose of
ethics is that it helps us to be happy, because a happy person conducts himself ethically. It also helps to foster
environment of trust, ethical behavior, integrity and excellence. It helps us to grow and become a person we
wanted to be. Ethics also helps to evaluate someone’s behaviors and calling up on a moral standards.
2. Please make a reflection about our present situation.
Ans:
We are now in a world wherein our lives have been affected in so many ways by this COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the public policy and advisory to lessen the spreading of this deadly illness that makes our lives
upside down. People around the world have been struggling to find ways in order to survive and to keep safe.
All of us have been suffering stress and anxiety in the fear of contracting COVID-19 as we see each day the
rising number of positive cases and deaths around the world. Also, lot of people lost their jobs due to this
pandemic, jobs that may help to provide for their families. Government around the world are doing
everything they could to sustain their people. Scientist around the world are working hard to find the vaccine
that will help us to fight this virus. Even our front liners who are protecting us are getting infected with this
virus. Through this experience, we become to realize a deep sense of gratitude to those people who continues
the front line battle against this disease. But during this pandemic, we are also witnessing lot of charitable acts
and volunteer within our communities. Helping each other to fight COVID-19. We just to keep our faith that
we will all get through this pandemic. To God be the Glory!
3. What is the relevance of this subject to your chosen field. Explain further.
Ans:
Ethics is an important thing in the field of Engineering. Engineers have their Code of Ethics. Me, as an
engineering student needs to learn how and what are the importance of ethics in my chosen field. As an
engineering student, ethics will help me to grow as a person. I would be able to make decisions in an ethical
manner. I would be able to know and justify right from wrong and good from bad. Ethics is very relevant in the
field of Engineering. It helps Engineers to solve problems considering the impacts that may happens. Though
Engineers have their own rules, standards, guides etc, still Ethics helps to be the basis of it. Ethics helps
engineering projects to identify the direct impact on people’s safety. It gives them the ability to push back
against bad decisions. Ethics also helps engineers to prevent and avoid illegal activities, and making sure the
safety of hundreds and thousands of people. Another reason is that Ethics sets a standard for professional
behavior giving them honesty and integrity.
