Van Gogh's painting Starry Night conveys sadness through its dark colors but also provides comfort. While the village is painted darkly, the brightly lit windows imply a sense of peace. The dramatic night sky contrasts with the serene village. Although sad, the painting aims to show goodness and provide solace. It teaches that sadness can be a source of peace, and that it is acceptable to feel alone at times. The respondent would enjoy painting in Van Gogh's style to express themselves and find comfort through their own art, like Van Gogh seemed to. They describe Starry Night as evoking a variety of emotions, with sadness dominating yet providing a serene and comforting vibe.

APPLICATION

Direction: Describe the picture through the following questions

1. What is the idea the painting wants to imply?

Shaped patterns are a means of expression in Starry Night, and they are
used to express emotions. Although the village is painted in dark colors, the
brightly lit windows provide a sense of peace. In comparison to the
dramatic night sky, the village is serene, and the sadness of the night can
almost be felt in Starry Night.

2. Is the painting portraying good or evil? How do you say so?

As you can see, the painting conveys a sense of sadness. It is very calming
to be surrounded by silence and peace. The painting, in my opinion, is
attempting to show us the good in it. Although the image is sad, it also
provides us with comfort. Van Gough, I believe, was ill at the time. That is
why many people felt Van Gough's emotions, which he expressed through
this painting. Generally, despite the painting's sadness, it provides us with
solace.

3. What lesson will you get from the painting?

The painting taught me that sadness, like joy, can bring us peace. I learned
that it's okay to be sad because there's peace and comfort behind the
sadness. I believe I have realized that it is acceptable to be alone at times. It
doesn't make us lonely, but it does give us time to think and be alone. This
painting has taught me a great deal, and I truly appreciate it.

4. If you have the skill like Van Gough’s, will you paint such a painting like
this? Why?
Yes, because having a skill like his looks like a lot of fun. For me, being a
painter sounds like a lot of fun. The ability to express yourself simply by
moving a brush is, in my opinion, the best part of being a painter. However,
if I had the opportunity to be a great artist, I would paint whatever I wanted
and find comfort in doing so, just like Van Gough. I'd like to make my own
art and express myself through it.

5. How will you describe Van Gough’s Starry Night painting?

With just a simple look, this artwork evokes a full variety of emotions in me.
Hence, sadness dominates the picture. This gives me a serene vibe, and as
someone who enjoys serenity, I genuinely love his artwork. It doesn't
appear dark to me, but it provides me with such comfort that I could stare
at it for hours. Perhaps I would call it a sad piece of art, but it can still bring
us peace, much like a person meditating on a starry night.
