ACTIVITY: POETRY-CONNECT
Read the poem below and answer the questions that follow.

TOGETHER, WE CONNECT
By: Carlos Bardon

Modernization subsisted in all nations,

Technology now started its benign motion

Pervaded all along in the city as well as in schools

ICT gradually dwelt, purposely created as a tool.

A tool that is contained a lot of essentials-

It provides everyone with technical skills and knowledge

It allows you to be connected in the digital world.

In these drastic moments of pandemic-

We can wholly use ICT to be still within tragic

Education will still continue

through online classes-don’t forgo.

Stay in touch within your society,

Make yourself always updated

By the help of technology (ICT)-

an instrument for us to be connected

Let Us Study

Reflecting on the ICT learning Process

 ICT
Computers were originally designed to facilitate engineering and scientific
calculations. Eventually, the utility of the machines found its way into
business and industry. Initially, computers were very costly, and only those
having enough budget would be able to afford them. Over the years, as
innovation advances, nearly everybody can afford it. Computers have recently
reached the point where they have now become popular learning tools, finding
their way into schools and homes to carry out assignments, to acquire
knowledge and information.

The method of learning and the opportunity to learn by computers and

the Internet are now evident; from the daily writing of letters and documents,
mathematical solutions, drawing and editing of photographs and many others,
resources abound in the world wide web for learners to reach and learn from.

Online education and learning are now popular for both formal and self-
help students. These are all possible because of developments in computer
technology, internet connectivity and educational innovation. Computers have
become a huge boom for education due to their reliability and effectiveness.

 Self

Integrating and successfully using ICT as a platform for efficient and

successful learning is what any computer-based education system should
hope for. ICT is a platform to improve students' cognitive skills, such as logical
thinking, synthesis, interpretation, and problem-solving capabilities. As an
individual, student at school or at home, they now have access to immense
educational opportunities to progress and learn more than traditional
classrooms can deliver.

Students now have in their fingertips the tools that were not available
without ICT, and the quality and ease of access to them has never been as
easy as they are today. ICT also encourages learning outside the boundaries
of the classroom and beyond the time typically intended for learning. ICT in
education has contributed to students’ collaboration, and successful teachers
are more directing and engaging than merely downloading knowledge from a
teacher to a student.

The challenge today is the self-discipline and self-management of young

students in the use of ICT, as computers seem to attract them to
entertainment and games which distract them from learning.

3
 Society

ICT as a way of enhancing the quality of community life is both real and
feasible. The opportunities and challenges of adopting ICT for growth need to
be further and deeper to ensure its successful implementation. Providing
credible, timely and accurate information to local or country residents or
people would be helpful to all.

The following advantages should be given for successful ICT execution:

1. Better profits and business climate

2. The Superior Health System
3. Strengthened education system
4. Constant information system
5. Participation decision-making with constituents
6. Fair sharing and use of resources
7. Effective feedback mechanism to strengthen government services

4
Let Us Practice
