Plagiarism Essay

Plagiarism is a problem in the United States schools because, students are

plagiarizing others work for their projects, it is getting students in trouble with their

schools, and it effects their learning because they are not learning when they plagiarize.

Imagine going home and doing their homework on their own, because there was no social

media or internet back in time. Kids nowadays go home get on their phones and ask it or

type in the questions then go to school the next day and turn whatever assignment in.

Students rely on the internet to do their work too much; they must think for themselves

and do their work on their own. This is so that they can excel with knowledge instead of no

knowledge at all.

Students who plagiarize and get caught can get into serious trouble. When students

are assigned something in school, they will look up as much as they can when teachers are

not looking. The internet has affected numerous students in a negative way because

students are not learning anything, they are just finishing projects that they do not even

know what they put down and they are calling it theirs. Students not only cheat from the

internet, but when their friends send them pictures of the work. This is considered

plagiarism through the internet as well. Students share stuff with their classmates all the

time to get work done faster, which causes students to fail their test’s when they must work

on their own.

“Students sometimes struggle getting their jobs that they want for their future”

(Karaoked, 12). They are struggling because of the lack of knowledge for the position.

Students have lack of knowledge because they are plagiarizing each other’s work and not

learning the skills necessary for their future. This is going to cause a struggle for students

who think if I copy, I’ll get it done quicker. This is not true because kids who do that know

nothing come up through whatever program they are in. People often plagiarize that even

when students are applying for jobs, they can see that some students have no knowledge of

what they are talking about. Job owners and managers say that the students coming up are

not working material because they do not have proper knowledge nor experience for the

job. This proves that plagiarism is not going to help students at all in their future.

StudentsStudents mindsets are affected by plagiarism immensely because they are

learning nothing (Silvester, 6). Plagiarism teaches students nothing because they are not

learning it by copying others work. They can copy work from the internet or copy work

from other classmates. Students copy so much now, that teachers can recognize if students

are copying each other. When students copy their brain does not even remember what you

put down for answers. To memorize and learn you must do work on your own. Students do

not realize this until there is something in their face that they will not understand. This is

when student wonder why they lack the knowledge when they got the right answer on the

sheet that copied.

Colleges are enforcing fines when students are caught copy. The colleges are getting

sick of people trying to take the easy way out. Students think it is the easy way out but in

the long run it is not the case because students then lack knowledge for the necessary tasks

that need done. Now that students are being fined, I think students are starting to realize

that it is a serious matter not something to joke about. Professors are saying that when

students plagiarize, they sometimes see the same answer on most of the student’s papers.

Professors are getting sick of students plagiarizing because they have the right to fail them

if they are caught plagiarizing. There are thousands of students that do it, so some people

do not know what to do with students that why students started getting fined.

In high schools, teachers catch students taking pictures of each other’s work and

searching stuff up. Students will snap pictures of answers to each other so that work will

get done faster. Sometimes students will wait to do their work at home so that one of their

friends can send it to them. Some students go home and google all the answers and go to

school the next day turn it in and call it their work. The problem with plagiarism starting in

high school is, when they get to college it is going to be a real eye opener. Therefore, college

students plagiarize because they started this terrible habit in high school which led some

students to struggling getting their dream jobs. This proves that plagiarism is one of the

worst habits for students to get into.

To conclude why plagiarism is so bad, it is because it is destroying students futures.

Student’s struggle getting their dream jobs because of plagiarism. Most teachers hate to see

students struggle because of plagiarism that is why teachers want students to stop

plagiarizing. They just want students to learn how to do their own work. They want

students to be able to take their test knowing the stuff not just guessing. Students that

plagiarize are starting to fail classes because teachers are catching them and putting zeros

in for their grade. Students are finally realizing a little bit of why it is so important to not

plagiarize and take their schoolwork into their own hands. The students who are stopping

plagiarism their grade is going up. But the students who still do it their grades just keep

going down. Some places are so bad that governors have stepped in and said stuff about

how students need to stop before the punishments are worse than the fines now. Some

professors have some of their classes in control and make it clear to student that plagiarism

is not aloud. Therefore, plagiarism needs to stop!
