Q1. Describe the levels of education in the context of Pakistan and compare them with the
seven levels which are described by international standards classification of educational
scale. And light the nature objectives and significant of secondary education.

Introduction:

Education is a blessing gift of almighty Allah that plays a decisive role to build a
nation. Education refers to getting knowledge, skill, and learning from a school college and
university. In this regard, a noted quotation of Nelsen mendela is mentioned, education is the
most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. It means education diversifies
the socio-economic, culture, political and takes an infinite turn in structure of the world. It also
removes unemployment and improves social differences and ameliorates the economic
productivity of a country.

Level of education in the context of Pakistan:

Pakistan is developing country and keeps a


significant place in the south Asia with her geography. Her education system is least advance
comparing to developed countries in the world. The education level of Pakistan includes
preschool is for the age of 3 to 5 years, primary is grade one to through five ,middle grade six to
through eight, high is grade nine to ten or SSC(Secondary school certificate) and grade eleven to
twelve or HSSC(Higher secondary school certificate). Moreover, universities programs leading
to undergraduate and graduate degree.

Seven level of education by international standards classification of education scale (ISCED):

The
seven level of education was described by ISCED in 1997. So that to impart new level of
education in the national level. The following levels are given.

1. Level o-pre-primary education.


2. Level 1-primary education
3. Level 2-lower secondary
4. Level 3-upper secondary
5. Level 4-post secondary education
6. Level 5-first stage of tertiary education
7. Level 6-secondary stage of tertiary
With the above level of education the national government provides education
to her people in the country.

Objective of secondary education:


There are a few objective of education given following.

1. It develops the skill and personality of a person.


2. A person would also know true and false.
3. Education is able a person to address a problem.
4. Develop the ability to communicate.

Significant of secondary education:

1. Education provides manpower in the development of a country.


2. It helps to combat unemployment and removes social differences.
3. It promotes love and loyalty to the nation.
4. Education brings in equality in the society.

Q2. What are the responsibilities of ministry of education in creating policies, plan and
availability of education in Pakistan? Explain in detail all the key functions of directorate
public instructions.

Responsibilities of ministry of education in the Pakistan:

The ministry of education is the main


organization for formulating policies, plan and to access education in the Pakistan. The key
responsibilities of ministry of education include creating policies, formation of national curriculum, plan
and programs to ensure the accessibility and availability of education in the country. Besides, it provides
technical, professional skills and training across the country so that to meet the standard of
international employment market. Therefore, it is the key player to impart quality of education in the
Pakistan.

Key functions of directorate public instruction:

1. It assesses the need of college and provides funds, staff and building.
2. It implements the policies and order of government.
3. It assists government to format policies and backs up institution on financial and
administrative matter.
4. It arranges workshops for teachers’ training.
5. It registers private collage.
6. It conducts inquiries in the educational institutions.
Q3. Describe the importance and organizational structure of federal directorate education,
(FDE).

Introduction:

Federal directorate of education was established in 1967. It was formed to


provide educational facilities to the children of federal government employees, residence of
Islamabad and adjoining 133 rural villages.

Importance of Federal Directorate Education:

1. It provides education facilities to residence of Islamabad.


2. It imparts sound environment of teaching and learning by focusing on academic
excellence and surging knowledge.
3. Tap inborn potential of students.
4. It develops the dynamic and manpower of country to compete international ground of
employment market.

Organizational structure of Federal Directorate of Education:


Q4. Write down detailed note on the aims, objectives and characteristic of curriculum at
secondary level. Also discuss the mechanism of curriculum development in Pakistan.

Curriculum:

It refers to lesson and academic content which is taught in a specific program.

Aim and objectives of curriculum development at secondary level:

1. The basic aim of curriculum development to create specific content for the whole
learners according to function of curriculum neither for individual.
2. Pupils learn to respect culture of different people.
3. It makes students to understand and summarize the context.
4. Curriculum development follows the norms and moral value of society.
5. It is consisted of the need of learner.
6. It includes subject matter.

Characteristics of curriculum development:

1. Curriculum should be formed on the basis of social order of democratic type.


2. It should be tested and improved through research.
3. It should provide effective information to pupils both scientific content and the abilities
of the pupils.
4. It should be psychologically sound in the field of teaching and learning.
5. It should impart skills, interest and attitude and appreciation.

Mechanism for curriculum development in Pakistan:

The ministry of curriculum wing makes


mechanism for the curriculum development. The wing exceeds the proposal of curriculum to
provincial central. Then the province revises the curriculum according to ministry wing. Later,
that wing makes a committee of subject specialist. With that, they make new draft of
curriculum present it to national review committee. After approving, the committee sends draft
to education secretary for notification. After that, the approved draft provides to text book
boards for the publication of text book.

Q5. Critically examine the evaluative process and historical background of textbooks:
Textbook:

Textbook is a book which is used as standard source of knowledge for a


particular subject. So that to provide sound information to learners in the classroom.

Evaluative process of textbook:

A textbook is evaluated basis on its knowledge curriculum and


its success and failure. The textbook are provided to various schools in the country. Then it is
taught to students. If the learners are not satisfied with the curriculum of textbook, then it si
reviewed by ministry of curriculum wing to improve its existing context in order to that to
impart sound information to learners.

Historical background:

After the independence of Pakistan, She used multi-textbooks in the


country. This is because there was no textbook board in the government sector. It was a
common practice to use multi-textbook around the world in 80s. Thus, Pakistan used various
textbook series for classes 1 to 5 which was developed by private publisher in the country.
