A. INTRODUCTION
Instructional design is the whole process of analyzing needs and learning
objectives as well as developing teaching techniques and learning materials to meet
these needs. This includes the development of learning packages, teaching activities,
trials, revisions and activities to evaluate learning outcomes. The systems approach in
education can cover several arable areas. For example, the curriculum system
approach, learning system, implementation system, implementation system and so on.
Robert M (2009) defines instructional design as a process of planning performance
goals, determining learning strategies, selecting media and determining or making
teaching and evaluation materials. Reigeluth (1983) also states that instructional
design is a process of determining learning methods for change / updating of students'
knowledge and skills.
The problems which teachers usually face in instructional desain are the
teacher does not fully understand the ins and outs of preparing the lesson plan. If the
teacher does not fully understand the ins and outs of the arrangement, then
automatically a feeling of laziness will arise when they want to compose it. Actually
this is a classic reason, because in recent years the government has been promoting
various socialization programs concerning the preparation of lesson plan. In addition,
one of the problems is curriculum changes. Curriculum changes will have an impact
on changing the composition of the components in the lesson plan. The lesson plans
are arranged according to the rules in the curriculum.
The current curriculum is Curriculum 2013. This means that the current
lesson plan curriculum will be structured differently from the lesson plan in the
previous curriculum (KTSP). These changes often make it difficult for [Link]
last problems is the minimum mastery of computerized technology for teachers.
Teachers in previous generations (or the so-called old teachers) on average stuttered
about computerized technology. All work involving the arrangement of words in a
text, including the lesson plans, will be very easy if done with the help of a computer
or laptop. Just imagine if the lesson plans that can now be copied and pasted from the
teacher's book files must be written manually by hand. It will definitely take a long
time, and it will certainly be a difficult problem for the teacher.
Things that must be considered by teachers in designing their instruction is the
teachers need to consider about what are the learning objectives to be achieved, the
subject matter should use in the form of facts in the field, concepts or [Link], it
should have learning resources to find the material. The teachers need to consider
about learning strategy in accordance with the interest, talents, maturity level and
learning style of students because it will be used to teach the [Link] most
importants thing is the strategy should have effectiveness and efficiency values.
B. LESSON PLANNING EVALUATION
Lesson plan that we used was lesson plan from SMK (SMEA) Saraswati 1
Denpasar. In Permedikbud No. 22 Year 2016, a lesson plan consists of School
identity, Subject identity, Class/Semester, Topic, Time Allotment, Learning
Objective, Basic Competency and Indicator of Competency Achievement, Learning
material, Learning Method / Technique, Learning Media, Learning Sources, Learning
Activity, and Assessment. We already analyzed the lesson plan based on
Permendikbud No. 22 Year 2016 and we got that on the lesson plan there is school
identity which is SMK (SMEA) Saraswati 1 and for the Subject identity, and
Class/Semester are stated clearly that is English for X AKL 2 class for first semester.
The topic and the time allotment also stated clearly that is congratulating and
complementing others for 3 times meeting 45 minutes for each meetings. Learning
Objective, all of them are stated appropriate with the basic competency and indicator.
For the learning material, it has been explained very well, there is an attached
definition and example of the material that will be studied by students, those are
congratulating and complementing. It also contains with learning method that will be
used to teach the students and step to step in teaching and learning process that
already described in learning activity. In addition, the lesson plan consisit of learning
resource which is used to the teachers to get the learning materials.
Lesson plan was made in accordance with the syllabus. Competency
achievement indicators have been compiled using operational verbs that can be
measured or assessed according to the characteristics of the subject. Learning
objectives have been made with sufficient attention to ABCD (Audience, Behavior,
Condition and Degree) or CABD (Condition, Audience, Behavior and Degree).
Learning objectives are also arranged according to the competency achievement
indicators. Learning media and learning resources already explained in this lesson
plan so they are very relevant in preparing learning. The learning steps are arranged
according to the techniques in this lesson plan so there are preliminary, core, closing
and timing steps at each stage. Student worksheets have been well prepared and
learning outcome assessment sheets have been prepared quite well, although there is
no explanation which are the worksheet and the assessment sheet. Learning outcome
assessment sheet in the form of an assessment and the right instrument form is good
enough but it should be explained again and directed to make it easier to assess.
After we analyzed the lesson plans that we got from the school, we can
conclude that lesson plan consist all components in the Permendikbud No. 22 and as
clear as possible. The learning objectives and learning material have been explained
very well so those are easy to understand. But there is no clearly explanation for
which one is the students’ worksheet and which one is assessment sheet.
C. RECOMMENDATION
Based on the lesson plan that we have analyzed, the component of lesson plan
on Permendikbud no 22 Year 2016 already explained as clear as possible but the
teachers need to consider in students’ activity to give practice and assess their
understood about the material. Two important things which need to be consider were
the students’ worksheet and assessment sheet. The teachers must give clearly
instruction on students’ worksheet or assessment sheet. In addition, the teachers
should mention it well. On the other hand, the teachers need to consider with the test
which will give to the student. The first test is written test and it was not appropriate
with the indicator. In the indicators, the teachers use determining as indicator but
there was no instruction to determine the social function and language features so the
teachers should mention clearly what the students need to do.
