Expression of interest

Dear Monash University admissions team,

My name is Elias Yael Labastida Sandoval and I am an international student from Mexico, I have been
studying a double degree at the university of Technology Sydney during the last 2 years in Australia,
and recently I decided to go for Computer Science and study that as my major. I want to join the
university of Monash due to its ranking, which is number 84th in the world according to the Times
Higher Education. I am aiming to transfer universities and study the Bachelor of Computer Science. I
have studied programming before at high school and I really enjoyed that which may make this
experience easier and more enjoyable for me and make me excel in my degree.

As stated before I am studying a double degree of science and business which I really like, but I the
reason why I am changing to this degree is due to my passion, I honestly prefer to do computer science
/ Information Technology than what I am doing now which is nanotechnology and finance, I know that
I can pick electives that are not necessarily related to my degree, so I would like to continue with some
science or even business as my electives or breadth, so my decision is clear and I want to experience
this degree in one of the best universities designed for this subject.

Moreover, I know the risks and the price that this process has, I understand that it is starting over
again and some subjects may not be able to be validated due to the difference of subjects between
the bachelor degrees I have done and the one I want to do now. I have completed a diploma in science
as well at University of Technology Sydney which may be useful to show my performance during my
science course and demonstrate that I want to change degree due to my eagerness to keep studying
IT and increase my previous knowledge and even get more.

I hope this letter met the requirements of what an expression of interest letter is supposed to be. If
there is any further question or requirement, I would gladly like to know and in order to answer as
clear as possible.
