    Assignment 1

    My name is Stella Galik and I am 18 years old. I was born here in Las Vegas. I went to

    North West Career and Technical Academy and I was in the Early Childhood Education

    program. This is where my love for this profession began to grow. In this program I learned how

    to write lesson plans, understand and read curriculum, teach my own lessons to our schools

    on-campus kindergarten class, got the opportunity to have an internship at Dean Allen

    Elementary school, and I even graduated as the top student in this program. Being able to do all

    of this was so enlightening and proved that I want to continue working in this field. Whether it

    be a school teacher, a child’s psychologist, or psychiatrist, I want to be in this industry to help

    our younger generations anyway I can.

    Growing up, school was always difficult for me. I went to three separate elementary

    schools, and it was extremely hard for me to adjust to the new environment, make new friends,

    and learn the new curriculum. When middle school came around, I had some amazing teachers

    that taught me a lot. More specifically, my 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. Palmer has made a

    lasting effect on me. She taught me about the meat industry and influenced me to become

    vegetarian. That being said, I have been vegetarian for 7 years now. Teachers like Mrs. Palmer is

    what makes me want to be a teacher. I want to change a child's life like the way Mrs. Palmer did

    for me.

    I feel that I can offer a lot to this area of profession because I have already been so

    involved in this community. I have been studying Early Childhood Education for 4 years now, I

    have had an internship, and much more. I would love to help influence a child’s life for the better
    and teach them a variety of things. I look forward to learning more about this career so I can

    apply my knowledge in the real world.
