The Interview
A grocery store advertised for a female cashier who
will handle its sales. Several girls presented themselves to
the manager for the interview. Angela came early. She dressed neatly and was
well-groomed, too. She talked pleasantly to the manager.
Then, Carla came in a bright colored skirt and blouse with unkempt hair.
She was talking loudly and was laughing boisterously during the interview.
Marga arrived late sweating profusely. She asked for apology to the
manager telling that she was caught in the traffic.
After the interview, the manager knew who was suited for the job.
Answer the following questions:
1. Who do you think was hired as the cashier for the grocery?
2. Why was she hired?
3. Why is good grooming important?
4. How do you keep yourself well-groomed?
Read the following sentences taken from the story.
