The story is about a boy named Tonyo.

Tonyo and his grandfather named Apo always hangout

together and telling stories like supernatural stories or Apo called it “not-like-ours”. Tonyo spent
so much time with his granpa that his brothers always picked him and calling him names like
‘Sissy’. One day, Tonyo’s father came with a bad news, that a farmer from other barangay just
found dead in that morning. What was strange, Tatay said, was the suspect pulled out the
farmer’s internal organs, only using its bare hands. When Apo heard the news, Apo quickly went
to the doctor who is examining the dead body. When Apo came home, he rushed to his room
and searching for his bronze dagger. Tonyo and his family were shocked why Apo is holding a
dagger. So they asked him why. Apo told them about the manlalayag which is a “not-like-ours”.
At that night, when they’re sleeping, but the boys is still awake, Fernando don’t believe Apo’s
story. Tonyo quickly defended it and teased him ‘Sissy’ after that. So the brothers challenged
Tonyo to kill the manlalayag and Tonyo nodded. Past few days, it was night time, Tonyo
sneaked into Apo’s room to grab the dagger. When the family are in deep sleep, he silently
leave the house and start finding for the manlalayag. When Tonyo encountered the manlalayag,
he successfully stab it with the dagger. From that day his siblings stopped teasing him. And the
town called him Tonyo the Brave. The End.
