CHAPTER III

This study represents the methods used in the study. It describes the
research design of the study, the instruments used, the subject of the
study, and the procedure of data gathering.

A. RESEARCH DESIGN
The researchers used the descriptive research, the researchers tend to
elaborate and described the data gathered in the survey about the
difficulties in achieving with highest honors.

B. RESEARCH SETTINGS
The research was conducted in Tagoloan National High School on
February 19-21 2020. 11am located at Poblacion Tagoloan Misamis
Oriental. Tagoloan National High school provide special classes
TECHVOC, SPA, and SECTION 1.

C. RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

The respondents of the study are the students of special classes in
TNHS which are the TECHNICAL VOCASTIONAL IN LIVELIHOOD
PROGRAM (TECHVOC), SPECIAL PPROGRAM IN THE ARTS (SPA),
and the section 1 students from grade 7 to grade 10.

D. SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The researcher conduct the study at TAGOLOAN NATIONAL HIGH
SCHOOL. The researcher used 12 sections out of ___ due to the mental
capacity of the students

E. DATA GATHERING
The procedure on how the researchers gather the data information in the
study. First the researcher print the guide questions. Next the
researchers distributed a blank sheet of paper to the respondents.
Lastly. The researchers collected the papers after the respondents done
answering

G. STATISTICAL TREATMENT/ TOOL

The researcher used the following materials of conducting a study. Bond
papers used outputs of guide question. Laptop used in encoding and
designing the research paper. Printer use in printing the research paper.
Ballpens used in writing or editing clerical errors, and also used in
computing the survey. Scotch tapes used to attached the guide question
in the board for the respondents, Lastly papers distributed to the
respondents for their answers.

REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

According to Alexander W. Astin, a student development

theory based on students involvement is presented and described, and
the implications for practice and research are discussed. Student
involvement refers to the amount of physical and psychological energy
that the students devotes to the academic experience. Thus a highly
involved students, is one who, for example, devotes consideration
energy to studying, spends much time on campus, participates actively
in students organizations, and interacts frequently with faculty members
and often students.

Conversely, a typical uninvolved students neglect studies,

spends little time on campus, abstains from extra-curricular activities,
and has infrequent contact with faculty members.

Another reason was family factors. Reviewed research

findings with regard to family influences on student achievement. Five
family and home environmental factors that affect students achievement
and the effects of which be altered through intervention were identified
parent expectation and attributes, structure for learning, home affective
environment, discipline and parent involvement.
chapter 5
summary
in general this study aims to determine
the factors affecting difficulties of student in achieving with
highest honor. The researchers conducted the study of tagoloan nhs located in
poblacion tagoloan, misamis oriental. The respondents of the study are the students
of 3 special classes from grade 10-7. The researchers tend to compare the
independent and dependent variable and if there is a chance to obtain with highest
honors.
To gather necessary data, the researchers used survey questionnaire composed of
15 question to be answer by respondents.
The beneficiary of this study are the students for them to determine where they can
show more their skills and determine the factors to change for them to achieve with
highest honors.

Findings
The result of the data gathered from the survey. It appears that 37% of the students
average is 95% above. 77.4% of the factors that affects the students academic
performance are attending extra curriculars, their parents, and how teacher teach.
The best way to achieve 98% above average are never stop learning, pass an
assignment always and giving all your best in performance tasks. The students must
minimize using gadjets have positive minds, trust their selves, and they should have
a better education, and able to face academic challenges, and also setting their mind
of their goals in life.

Conclusion
As an outcome of the survey, we conclude that the factors affecting students
difficulties in achieving with highest honor are the following. First, the teaching skills
of the teacher should have loud and clear voice, the teacher must teach well and
always review the past lessons they’ve tackle in order for them not to forget it. Next,
are the parents because some of the students are lacking of family support such as
financial, also attending extra curricular is a factor that affects their academic
performance because they prefer to attend extra curricular than focusing on
academic, however extra curricular gives a little contribution of their grades. Lastly
we conclude that in order to achieve difficulties in achieving with highest honor are
the following: setting students mind to focused on academic than focusing on extra
curricular. The efforts of the students of their performance task. Then avoid the
devices that will distruct their studies by following this all the students able to achieve
with highest honor.

Recommendation
The researchers recommend that if they want to reach the highest honor, they must
focus in academic performance rather than extra curricular activity because it is one
of the factors affecting their academic performance. We recommend also to the next
researchers of this study to have enough to survey and have more response from
the students.
