VI. METHODOLOGY AND PREPARATION

a. Insert Installation (Refer to Method Statement for Insert Installation
document).
b. Cable Tray Installation (Refer to Method Statement for Cable Tray Installation
document).
c. Conduit Installation (Refer to Method Statement for Conduit Installation

d. Cabling Installation
 Identify the labels and cable ID so that temporary labeling can be applied.
 Ensure that for each group of finished labels they are aligned and
attached so they are readable from the same direction.
 Plan the occupation of cabling in the containment and along the route
so that crossovers are eliminated and entry points into and exits from
the containment are not congested.
 In any cable run where the cable is to be pulled the run should contain
no more than two 90⁰ bends, if more than two 90⁰ bends are required
or the sum of all angels is greater than 180⁰ then there must be more
pull points along the cable run where the cable is able to be managed
In and out the containment.
 Determine the pulling in points which will cause damage to the cable,
thought sharp edges or bends tighter than the installation bend radius.
 Apply protection to the containment where damage to the cable
sheath may occur. Consider using cable installation aids.
 Smaller bundles make better use of limited containment space.
 With mixed length cables is a cable run always pull in the longest
length cables first.

 Secure the stack of cable boxes or reels using a pulling frame or cable
stands to hold the packaging in place.
 Pulling force must be respected, Maximum pull force for a single, or
bundle of cables, is 110 N (25lbf).
 Avoid any cable kinks should be removed and replaced.
 For safety, only use cable jacks and pulling frames which are designed
for and fit for purpose.
 Always control the rate at which cables are pulled off the drum.
 Take great care over the management of cable drum.
 If nylon type zip ties are used, cutting off long ends may cause creation
of razor sharp edges, do not over tighten.
 Acclimatize the cables to the location where they are to be installed,
minimum 2 hours.
 Refer to the specification sheet for the installation and operating
temperatures ranges for the cables being installed.
 The recommended installation temperature range is 0⁰ - 60⁰ Celsius.
Avoid pathways exposed to extreme thermal cycling.
 Only use approved lubricants and pulling gels for the cable type being
installed.
e. CCTV Installation
 Prepare all the materials, equipment & tools that will be necessary
during execution time.
 Drawing for installation shall be approved and shall be coordinated
with others services.
 Ensure that the approved shop drawings are current and available with
installation team.
 Avoid installing the cameras close to sources of powerful
electromagnetic radiation, such as radio or TV transmitters or close to
fluorescents lamp or object reflecting light, or under unstable light
sources, which may cause flickering.
f. Bullet IP Camera type Installation
 Install the bundled bracket.
 Mark the location of three (3) screw holes using the bracket plate included
in the package.

 Attach the plate to the surface using three (3) supplied screw.

 Attach the bracket to the plate.

 Attach the sunshield.

 Loosely secure the supplied screws and washers to attach sunshield.

 Slide to adjust the sunshield to cover the lens as far as possible but out of
the camera’s live view.

 Tighten the screws to fix the position of the sunshield.

 Install the camera.
 Attach the camera to the bracket through one of the two (2) holes below.

 Adjust the camera viewing angle and tighten the knob to fix the camera
position.

 Identification to be made as per approved tagging materials.

g. Fixed Dome IP Camera Mounting Installation

 Before mounting the camera, remove the dome cover by loosening the
three (3) screws.

 Mark the location of the screw holes based on the drill template.

 Route the cables through the ceiling, taking the conduit hole on the drilling
template as a reference. Or slide off the cable exit tab on the dome cover
to route the cable through that hole later.

 Use the camera body and locate the three (3) screw holes.

 Install the camera body to the ceiling using three (3) screw.

 Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the camera.

 Adjust the camera viewing angle & focus.
 Attach the cover to the camera body and tighten the three (3) screws to
secure it.

h. Panoramic Fixed Dome IP Camera Installation

 Using security L-key, loosen the four (4) screws securing the dome cover,
remove vandal resistance dome cover.

 In ceiling mount, loosen the four (4) machine screws and remove in-ceiling
mount housing from surface mount housing.

 The above removed screws are also used to attach the camera with
in-ceiling mount housing to the pendant mount and wall mount.

 If you are using the side conduit opening on the surface mount, remove
the conduit plug by first removing the socket set screw using the provided
Allen key and remove the conduit plug using a flat screwdriver.

 Remove Wall Mount and hardware from the box. Using the Mounting
template, prepare the mounting surface.
 Connect top shield and wall mount as shown in image. Run Ethernet Cable
and outside power cable (if necessary) through the Wall Mount.
 Attach Wall Mount to the wall using drywall screws or any optional
hardware suitable for the mounting surface.

 Attach Flange Plate to in-ceiling mount with 3 set screws.

 Attach Top Plate to in-ceiling mount with other 3 set screws.

 Insert each lever screw into Flange Plate, support arm, Top Plate, screw
nuts and caps.

 Using the mounting template, cut a hole in surface for mounting.

 Insert flush mount adapter into the hole.
 Screw the “lever screws” until the flush mount is snuggly installed. The
“support arm” will ride down the screw to compress the mounting surface.

 Attach the trim ring to the flush mount adapter by rotating clockwise.

i. Testing

All inspection and testing for CCTV installation shall be carried out in accordance
with specifications. Work shall be carried out by the experienced site team under
the guidance of engineer and shall further be checked and approved by quality
engineer.

 Check the materials are approved.

 Check all devices installed as per the specifications & drawing.
 Conduct visual inspection prior to testing.
 Check the wiring connection for CCTV is already according to
specifications.
