Greetings of zealous glee!

JOSE D. UDASCO MANGANGAN 1 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
is an integrated system of education that takes pride in including
knowledge with a purpose. Our concerned efforts in providing
remedies to societal issues encourage us to convey out the
objectives and goal of GENDER AWARENESS DEVELOPMENT. The
school and its faculty enthusiastically wants to be part of this
program, with which we believe that this would aid us on the
demand of our today’s socio condition.
To cater this demands we take courageous appeal to request that
the teachers of this institution be allowed to have their
Educational Tour in Manila with the following objectives;
a. Promote the gender responsive governance
b. Enhance one’s awareness on the effect of socialization
process on one’s belief and behaviours, factors affecting
gender and sex characteristic and issues on gender biases
c. Create vision of a gender fair and child friendly system,
based on gender and development perspective.
The faculty planned to have this educational tour in Metro Manila
on December 15, 16, and 17, 2016, if your good office will allow
us.
To realize this plan we will be using the 5% MOOE budget allotted
to Gender Awareness Development amounting to P28, 500.00.
We will be grateful and thankful if your good office take positive
response to our request.

GENDER AWARENESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

AND ACTIVITIES
I: Introduction
Teaching is recognized as one of the most

challenging and respected career choices, absolutely vital
to the social, cultural, and economic health of our nation.
Instruction doesn't consist primarily of lecturing to
students who sit in rows at desks, dutifully listening and
recording what they hear, but, rather, offers every child a
rich, rewarding, and unique learning experience. The
educational environment isn't confined to the classroom
but, instead, extends into the home and the community
and around the world.
Today, the seeds of such a dramatic transformation in
education are being planted. Prompted by massive
revolutions in knowledge, information technology, and
public demand for better learning, schools nationwide are
slowly but surely restructuring themselves. Instruction
doesn't consist primarily of lecturing to students who sit
in rows at desks, dutifully listening and recording what
they hear, but, rather, offers every child a rich, rewarding,
and unique learning experience. The educational
environment isn't confined to the classroom but, instead,
extends into the home and the community and around
the world that is why aside from teaching which is the
primary function of the teachers, they take the role of the
overall impact of teaching and learning processes.
In line of this, JOSE D. UDASCO MANGANGAN 1
NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL is an integrated system of
education that takes pride in including knowledge with a
purpose. Our concerned efforts in providing remedies to
societal issues encourage us to convey out the objectives
and goal of GENDER AWARENESS DEVELOPMENT. The
school and its faculty enthusiastically wants to be part of
this program, with which we believe that this would aid us
on the demand of our today’s socio condition.
II: Rationale
Teachers play a very significant role in the

development of students. They are like beacons of light,
who guides them in the formative years of their life. They
mold and shape the future of our youth. What we learn
from our teachers remains with us, throughout our life.
Occasionally, the teachers sit in classes performing like
students, reviving the time, at what time they were also
students. And from this, it makes a mutual understanding
between students and the teachers. Despite being the
day at what time we give credit to our teacher's uphill
struggle, the festival reveals a healthy communication
between teachers and students, in which the latter
recognizes the teaching ability of the former. Though it is
effortless celebrations, and they imitate the verity that
we heed for our teachers.
Recasting the relationship between students and

teachers and awareness on gender development demand
the structure of school changes as well. Though it is still
the norm in many places to isolate teachers in
cinderblock rooms with age-graded pupils who rotate
through classes every hour throughout a semester -- or
every year, in the case of elementary school -- this
paradigm is being abandoned in more and more schools
that want to give teachers the time, space, and support
to do their jobs.
Extended instructional periods and school days, as
well as reorganized yearly schedules, are all being tried
as ways to avoid chopping learning into often arbitrary
chunks based on limited time.
III: Vision
Nurture the social responsibility of teachers to
become gender awareness.
IV: Mission
Enhance one’s awareness on the effect of
socialization process on one’s belief and
behaviours, factors affecting gender and sex
characteristic and issues on gender biases
V: Objectives:
a. Promote the gender responsive governance

c. Create vision of a gender fair and child friendly
system, based on gender and development
perspective.
VI: Strategies
1. Initiate program to train and prepare teachers /staff
for gender awareness development in the teaching
learning process who plays the most salient part in
the educational cycle.
2. Monitor teachers/ learners working collaboratively.
3. Implement programs that response gender
governance.
4. Orient teachers on their role and responsibility as
educator to encourage to carry out the objectives
and goal of gender awareness development.
