    SPEECH ABOUT: “DISCOVERING THE SELF”

    Hi Good Afternoon Everyone! I’m Vivialyn Rea Yumul and let me tell you something. I know someone. A
    woman to be specific and if I will compare her to something, I will compare her to a butterfly. We all know that a
    butterfly cycle will start into a small caterpillar and will sooner become a beautiful butterfly.

    Like that woman I know. Yes she is smart, a loving daughter, and an obedient daughter. She is an achiever
    in life, she smiles a lot. Maybe she is strong. But behind that there is this fear. Way back then, she is afraid to
    express herself. She is afraid of what will people will say to her. She is afraid of not being good enough. She is
    afraid of what ahead of her. She is afraid of losing someone. She is afraid to socialize because in some point she had
    been bullied. She is afraid of a lot of things. She is afraid of feeling empty. She is afraid to be alone. She is afraid
    when someone will not there for her when she needs a shoulder to lean on. She is afraid of being rejected. She is
    afraid to be a disappointment. She is afraid to be left hanging.

    As time goes by, she experienced a lot and in a butterfly cycle those experiences serve as the cocoon. Yes
    maybe she got afraid, coward and she cried a lot and at some point she think she can’t surpass it and she may think
    of giving up, she doubted herself a thousand times but she did not give up. She needs to be strong enough. She needs
    to fight the battle of life. She may be tired of everything but because of the love to her family, she still standing firm
    conquering every struggle that life is throwing at her. She wove her cocoon. Wipe those tears. Exceed her limits. She
    opened her wings and became a beautiful butterfly.

    Now, as she flies high, she discovered more about herself. She can do anything that scares her. She is brave
    enough to take risk and shows what she’s got. She is molded by experiences and made her the person she need to be
    and still in progress. She discovered that she wants to inspire every people to push through even it is hard to and
    wants to be a voice of the youth. She also wants to be an inspiration to every girl that been bullied and told that they
    can’t. She can fly high and aim high give her very best just to reach her goals and dreams.

    She discovered that she is not just a woman but rather a woman with vision and purpose. She is not just a
    beauty but rather a beauty with a brain. She is not just a beauty with a brain but rather she is confidently beautiful
    with a heart.

    Lastly, she loves God so much. She discovered that when you put God as your source then you can do such
    amazing things and everything will fall into places. Yes she is a believer and I believe I am she.
