LAUREATE ENGLISH PROGRAM
STRUCTURE AND REQUIREMENTS
LEP foundation levels provide the basis for continuation into international tracks and aim to
bring students to a basic level of language proficiency. After having passed the foundation
level, students can continue studying English full-time and aim for entry into their chosen
international track delivered 100% in English from their 1st year.
ENG 103 ENG 103 - An advanced study of English structure emphasizing

phonology, social and historical factors, process writing, critical
reading skills, evaluative research techniques, and the research
paper.

ENG 102 - An in-depth study of the importance of structure in

the English language. Emphasis on the ability to use English
language for communication at a more advanced level.
ENG 101 ENG 101 - A study of the basic structure of English language
with the opportunity to practice listening, speaking, reading, and
writing in English in order to communicate effectively.
Academic Preparation 2 EAP 200 Listening & Speaking – Student’s English language
(ACP2) skills are raised to the necessary standard to do well in English

Academic Preparation 1 Listening and Speaking – Students develop new skills in English

Foundation
(ACP1) conversations and understand the meaning and purpose of the

EAP 100 speaker in more formal settings.
Reading & Writing – An explicit focus on developing academic
vocabulary and to see the relationship between vocabulary and
context in more complex authentic texts.
FND 200
Listening and Speaking – Students are able to understand basic
Pre-Foundation & Foundation grammatical structures and pronunciation patterns and develop
(Pre-FND & FND) skills in using conversational English.
FND 200, FND 100 Reading and Writing - Students learn basic rhetorical and grammatical
elements of written English.
FND 100 - Beginners will be brought up to a level of English
necessary to communicate basic and immediate thoughts.
LEP curriculum and its levels have been professionally benchmarked against the Common
European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages.
