B. Statement of the Problem
The LGU of the province of Quezon has decided that its newly acquired property with an Institutional (D-
2) zoning classification and located in Lopez, Quezon shall host the new medium-rise District Hospital
building ("The Project").
The proposed hospital will be a Level 1 Primary Hospital that will be servicing the population of 100,000
(2016) of the 4th District of Quezon. The Project will be the primary referral facility for the residents of
Lopez, and will be handling general medical cases, Ob-Gyn, delivery service, and minor surgeries.
C. Project Site Features
The Project site has 40,000 square meters TLA, is rectangular in shape and is a regular inside lot, with
dimensions of 250.00 meters on depth and a 160.00 meters width. Its primary access is through a 20.00-
meter RROW (national highway).
The 160 meters frontage of the lot faces the south. The Project site slopes upwards from the RROW
established grade (elevation +0.00) to a height of +10.00 meters at the rear of the lot. To the left of the
project site is a private walk-up apartment townhouse development. To its right is a food park
development and directly across the street is a 5-storey BPO office block.
D. Design Objectives
a. To design a district hospital that can maximize site utilization for the LGU through a good process
flow/ vertical spatial relationship and space planning efficiency; and
b. To design a building that shall be sustainably planned/ designed, delivered at the least cost and will
serve as a landmark facility for the District of Lopez, Quezon.
