Grade 2 Math Attitudes & Achievement

This document summarizes a study on learners' attitudes towards mathematics and their academic achievement. The study used a descriptive correlational research method with 191 grade 2 pupils in the Philippines. Questionnaires and documentary analysis were used to collect data on learners' confidence, anxiety, value, enjoyment, motivation, and teachers' expectations of mathematics. While learners had high levels of positive attitudes towards mathematics, most did not meet expectations for academic achievement. The study found relationships between attitudes and achievement, and recommends remedial teaching strategies, developing 21st century skills, understanding learner differences, and building positive teacher-student relationships to improve mathematics learning.

this studies purposely to determine the Learners attitude I towards Mathematics and
their Academic Achievement: Basis for Remedial Program of Grade II pupils in Doa Juana
Actub Lluch Memorial Central School year 2016-2017. The descriptive method of research
correlational analysis was used and appropriate statistical tools were used. With 191 pupils in
the four section in Grade Two the data distributed and gather a through questionnaires and
documentary analysis.

The Grade II learners were within their age brackets and were appropriate to learn the
lessons in Mathematics and most of them were females where their parents had varied profile
