PART 1 - GENERAL

A.
Drawings and general provisions of the contract, including general and supplementary conditions and division 16 specification sections, apply to this section. Related Sections: All electric sections contain requirements relate to this section will be aplied to all divisions IDENTIFY INDIVIDUALLY Each power center , primary & secondary switchboard ( MCC ). Each secondary board. Each primary & secondary distribution switch & circuit breaker regardless of weather separately mounted or grouped with others in a single housing . Each wire or cable in each primary & secondary feeder . Each wire or cable in a feeder will be identified at its terminal points of connection & in each manhole , handhole , cable chamber , pull box , junction box & panel gutter through which it passes . The nomenclature used in identifying power centers network units , switchboards & secondary switchboards will conform to the nomenclature used on the drawings The nomenclature used to identify switches or circuit breakers will : 1. Where they disconnect mains or services , designate this fact together with suitable differentiating nomenclature where more than service or main is involved . Where they control feeders , designate the feeder number and the name of the load supplied . Where they control lighting & appliance branch circuit , designate the name of the space & load supplied .

The nomenclature used to identify feeder wires & cables will designate the feeder number . Identification for power centers , switchboards will be by means of engraved lamacoid nameplate showing 6.3 mm height white lettering of the front . Identification for distribution switches or circuit breakers will be made of following 1. the

Where individually enclosed engraved lamacoid nameplate showing 3.1mm height white lettering on a background fastened on the outside front of the enclosure .

Where in power center & switchboard & panelboards without doors same as individually enclosed . Where in secondary switchboards with doors , directories mounted behind transparent plastic covers in metal frames on the inside face of the doors .

Identification for wires & cables of feeders will be by means of weap-around labels except that fiber or non-ferrous metal wires or bands will be used for primary feeders throughout & secondary feeders in manholes & handholes fastening for metal tags will be of the same metal as the tag . Phase identification letters will be stamped into the metal of the bus-bars of each power center switchboard & panelboard . The letters will be visible without having to dissemble them any current or supporting elements . Provide on the front face of the primary gear a stencilled mimic bus diagram showing schematically the primary bussing and switching arrangements . Within primary gear containing switching equipment whose blades are alive in the open position , provide warning signs to this effect . Identify each outlet box , junction box & cabinet used in conjunction with empty raceway for wires of a future system by means of indelible markings on the inside denoting the system . Prior to installing identification tags & nameplates submit their nomenclature for acceptance . conform to all revisions issued by the engineer .
