2.- The TOEFL iBT test is the most widely accepted English language assessment,
used for admissions purposes in more than 130 countries including the United
Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Since its initial
launch in 1964, the TOEFL test has undergone several major revisions motivated
by advances in theories of language ability and changes in English teaching
practices. The most recent revision, the TOEFL iBT test, was launched in 2005.
The primary use of TOEFL scores is to evaluate the English-language proficiency of
applicants for graduate/postgraduate and undergraduate programs where English
is the language of instruction.
The purpose of the TOEFL iBT test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people
whose native language is not English. The TOEFL iBT scores are primarily used as
a measure of the ability of international students to use English in an academic
environment.
The Test (TOEFL iBT) evaluates all four language skills that are essential for
effective communication: reading, listening, speaking and writing.

Audience:
More than 27 million people from all over the world have taken the test to
demonstrate their English-language proficiency. The average English skill level
ranges between Intermediate and Advanced.
The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) test is an Englishlanguage proficiency test for people whose native language is not English.
It measures the everyday English skills of people working in an international
environment. The scores indicate how well people can communicate in English with
others in business, commerce, and industry. The test does not require specialized
knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday
work activities.
The TOEIC test is a two-hour multiple-choice test that
consists of 200 questions divided into two sections:
Listening Section, Reading Section.
Purpose:
TOEIC evaluates the level of ones command of English appropriate for the further
work in the sphere of business (global workplace).
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assesses the English
language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as
the language of communication. IELTS tests are held in over 900 locations across
the world with tests up to four times a month. IELTS tests all four language skills
listening, reading, writing and speaking. The IELTS Speaking test is a face-to-face
interview with a certified Examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation
as a test can get.
Purpose : IELTS measures ability to communicate in English across all four
language skills listening, reading, writing and speaking for people who intend to
study or work where English is the language of communication.
Audience: This test is designed for non-native speakers. IELTS is required by higher
education institutions and various programs in UK, Australia, Canada and New
Zealand. More than 2 million IELTS tests are taken each year. Taking IELTS opens
doors it can help you live, study and work around the world. More than 8,000
organisations worldwide accept IELTS, including government, academic and
employment institutions.
