Thales’ Accessibility Solutions Redefine the In-Flight Experience

Thales’ recognition highlights its dedication to creating a more accessible environment, especially for passengers with vision or hearing impairments, marking a significant achievement in advancing in-flight accessibility.

Thales’ cutting-edge accessibility user interface (UI) is designed specifically for passengers with low vision or blindness, enhancing their ability to enjoy a seamless in-flight experience. This UI integrates 13 intuitive gesture controls, modeled after familiar device interactions, ensuring that passengers with visual impairments can easily access in-flight entertainment without assistance. This advancement aligns with Thales’ commitment to equitable access for all passengers.

Thales is also introducing the industry’s first Signing Avatar, a unique tool to support passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing. This customizable avatar can sign in multiple languages, providing assistance with cabin notifications and video-on-demand services, and complements the closed captioning feature. With the Signing Avatar, hearing-impaired passengers can experience an inclusive, tailored in-flight entertainment experience.

“This is our fourth consecutive Crystal Cabin Award, and it’s an incredible honor for our team,” said Tudy Bedou, chief technology officer of Thales Inflyt Experience.
