The Long Beach Downtown Lions Club has donated scholarships to11 high school seniors to further their education, according to Lions President Marilyn Russell Bittle.

Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

They are: Matthew Riley, Avalon High; Alexa Tapia Delgado, Cabrillo High; Bella Zapata, California Academy of Mathematics and Science; Monyale West, McBride High; Alexander Vann, Millikan High; Sofia McCabe, Poly High; Pedro de la Torre, Poly High; Ella White, Sato Academy; Sam Clafin, Sato Academy; Kayla Ramirez, St. Anthony High, and Peightyn Myers, Wilson High.

The scholarships were presented to the students at The Grand with entertainment provided byvocalists Brock Lichthardt and Kaylee Brubaker and accompanist Anthony Zediker fromMusical Theatre West.
