Overwatch 2’s next anime crossover will bring the heroes and villains of My Hero Academia to the hero shooter in October, Blizzard announced Thursday. The latest Overwatch collaboration will go live in mid-October, with five new skins coming to the in-game shop.
Overwatch 2 goes anime again with My Hero Academia collab
The day has come
The Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia collaboration will let Tracer dress up as Deku, Juno as Uravity, and Reinhardt as All Might. On the bad guy side, we’ll get Kiriko as Himiko Toga and Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki. Each skin will be available from Oct. 17-30, either individually or as part of a discounted “Mega Bundle” that will include additional cosmetics and voice lines. Blizzard hasn’t announced pricing, but individual Legendary skins typically cost 1,900 Overwatch Coins.
Blizzard’s latest anime crossover follows similar tie-ins with One Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop. Other Overwatch collabs include K-pop group Le Sserafim, Hasbro’s Transformers, and brands Porsche, Lego, and Gentle Monster.
As with other Overwatch 2 collabs, Blizzard has explained that the heroes of Overwatch are simply cosplaying as characters from external properties; players won’t literally be playing as Deku, Uravity, All Might, Himiko, and Tomura.
Overwatch 2 is available to play for free on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
