Earlier this week, we invited you to join us on Twitch for a very special The Sims 4 show, hosted by Patrick Gill and streamer and filmmaker Charlie McDonnell.
Crowd Control dashed our dreams of a future career in esports
Get the children out of the fire!
Our mission was simple: speedrun our Sim through the E-Sports Competitor career track introduced in the The Sims 4 Discover University expansion. Of course, we here at Polygon like to make things hard on ourselves, because frankly — it’s funnier that way.
So to up the challenge, we allowed viewers to control certain aspects of our Sim’s experience using Crowd Control mod integration. And then we added an additional layer of chaos by incorporating physical challenges inside our studio. I won’t spoil the surprise, but let’s just say that after our final challenge, Patrick may never drink a Mountain Dew or eat a Slim Jim ever again.
You can watch an archive of the stream above, if you so please. And be sure to tune in to our Twitch channel on Friday, June 8 for our prototypically weird coverage of this year’s Summer Game Fest.
