My Background
I was born in South Korea but spent most of my childhood and teenage years in the United States and Canada. I attended Seoul National University for undergrad and Northwestern University, Medill Graduate School of Journalism for my master’s. Before joining The Times in 2021, I worked at various news outlets and media companies, including The Korea Times. I speak Korean and English.
Journalistic Ethics
As a Times journalist, I adhere to the standards outlined in The Times’s Ethical Journalism Handbook. I want to be fair to all sources involved in a story. I strive to give everyone a chance to make a statement, and I thoroughly fact-check my work.
