Historic milestone : The Indian School unveils plans for 75th anniversary celebrations this year with exciting activities

The Indian School, Bahrain (ISB), is set to mark a significant milestone in its history as it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. A series of events will be held throughout the year to honor the school’s rich history, achievements, and its enduring commitment to the community. The details of the celebrations were announced at a press conference held yesterday.

The event was attended by ISB’s Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Organizing Committee Convener Prince S. Natarajan, Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon. Vice-Chairman & Hon. Member-HSSE and Sports Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Hon. Asst. Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member-Finance & IT Bonny Joseph, Hon. Member-Transport Mohammad Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal G Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas, Junior Wing Vice-Principal Priya Laji, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas, former Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Vipin Kumar, and Shafi Parakatta.

The inaugural ceremony for this historic event will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the school’s Isa Town campus, where the exclusive Platinum Jubilee logo will be unveiled.

Key Events and Activities

The opening event will kick off a series of exciting activities, including various competitions, workshops, and cultural programs throughout the year.

In his announcement, ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese shared, “Our school is home to students from 18 nationalities, representing every state and union territory of India, creating a unique blend of cultures. As part of the celebrations, students will showcase a wide range of art forms from different Indian states, reflecting the cultural diversity of our nation.”

One of the key highlights will be the Aalekh Painting Contest, where students from 75 schools across the Gulf will showcase their artistic talents.

Additionally, workshops aimed at developing students’ artistic skills, including poster design and creative writing contests, will be organized.

Education Conclave and Other Exciting Events

The Education Conclave will bring together leading educators and experts to discuss the latest trends and developments in the education sector. Other exciting events include quiz contests, inter-school competitions for students, teachers, and parents, as well as community sports events that foster teamwork and encourage active participation from parents.

A Literary Festival will also be held, featuring a book exhibition in 75 languages, celebrating the diversity of languages and cultures.

Cultural Spectacles and Global Alumni Meet

One of the most anticipated events will be a record-setting dance performance at the National Stadium, where students will perform 75 different dance forms representing the cultural heritage of India.

A Global Alumni Meet will be organized to strengthen the bond between the school and its alumni. Invitations will be extended to former students to register via a Google form circulated through the media. The alumni meet will serve as a key opportunity to discuss how alumni can continue to support and contribute to the school’s growth.

These celebrations will not only mark ISB's legacy but will also help further its commitment to community, education, and cultural exchange.
