This is the category to apply for if you hold a deck, fishing or yacht related Certificate of Competency. Also suitable for those with other qualifications such as a DPO certificate, VTS V-103, inland waterway accreditation (for vessels of at least 24m in length) or who hold a middle management position ashore.
Suitable for those in command of a commercial or naval ship or who hold a senior management position ashore (for example, Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer).
For those who hold a non-management position ashore, a rating qualification or who have worked on a fishing vessel for at least two years.
For those in initial maritime training or education. Please only apply for this category of membership if you are a cadet or engaged in maritime study for the first time. The Nautical Institute may check the accuracy of the information you provide.
