The Duchess of Cambridge is often the envy of many women thanks to her chic wardrobe, luscious hair and gorgeous skin.

But when a group of students once praised Kate for her "beautiful" and "perfect" looks - she had a very unexpected - yet relatable response.

It came in 2017 when Kate and husband Prince William were on a trip to Poland and they conducted a walkabout near the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

Among the wellwishers were some students, who were avid followers of Kate fashion and were lucky enough to chat to her.

Afterwards one of the students, Magda Mordaka, revealed: "We are fans of the British monarchy. We have a Facebook group.

"We love her style and her contact with people. We were waiting for this visit from the very beginning. What would she wear? Would she bring the children?"

So what did Kate say when they told her she is "beautiful and perfect"?

Magda added: "She said it's not true - it's just the make-up.”

On that trip to Poland Kate was with William - but last month she undertook a rare solo visit.

She travelled alone to the Danish capital Copenhagen for a two-day visit, where she learned about the country's approach to early years development.

She also had an audience with Denmark's Queen Margrethe and carried out a visit to a women's crisis centre with Crown Princess Mary.

For many, one of the highlights of the visit was seeing Kate whizzing down a huge slide when she visited the Lego Foundation PlayLab.

And royal expert and biographer Robert Jobson told True Royalty TV's The Royal Beat that she "really came out of herself" on the trip.

He said: “Kate seemed more relaxed without William, who can be a bit fussy when he’s on royal jobs.

"The fact that she went down that slide, I’m not sure she necessarily would have done that if he was there. She was on good form, all smiles, very confident. Probably more confident than when she’s alongside William.

"She spoke very well. I thought she really came out of herself when she was there...She didn’t have to refer to William."
